Would you pay out-of-pocket to eat here for dinner or just stick with a counter service? We're trying to budget our money to some degree and I'm having a hard time with this decision since I've never eaten here. It's just me, my DH and my DS12 (not a super adventurous eater). :goodvibes

I like the food inside never tried outside... seems to be different menus. I also think the food outside is pricey for what it is....
Maybe try the CS at China in EPCOT rather than here...
At AK for CS I would rather eat at Flame Tree if it is open when you are going

Flame Tree will be open, so that's an option. However, we've eaten there our last three trips, so it might be nice to mix it up.

Hopefully, I'll get some feedback on the Y&Y TS, though. My ADR day is tomorrow! :wizard:

On our last trip we paid out of pocket on the table service at Y&Y, and we absolutely loved it. The servings were huge. Didn't get appetizers or dessert, luckily, because we never could have eaten it all. And we loved the food. Don't know about counter service. Hope this helps!

We go during free dining so cost isn't an issue. We have eaten lunch at Yak & Yeti table service the last 2 years. The food has been very good. We have had the mahi mahi, sesame chicken, and the bbq ribs. I have to say that the portions are quite large so you might want to share with DS. I'm not an adventurous eater either. Look through the dining reviews for pictures of the different meals.

We've gone to Yak and Yeti on all of our trips since they opened. The nice thing about this place is the portion size. My DD14 got the pot sticker appetizer as her meal (I think there were 5 potstickers?). Then DD17 and I shared the steak/shrimp meal. DH got his own meal.

I thought Y&Y was okay. Think P. F. Changs with better decor, and slightly better food.

We loved Yak & Yeti when we ate there this summer! I thought the chicken lo mein was delish and pineapple wontons for dessert were sooo amazing. I can't wait to eat there again! :thumbsup2

Wow - I keep thinking the SAME THING! ALthough I'm 'up in the air' on the comparison re: food quality...

Y&Y: Tempura Green Beans.... Very disappointed in these... just didn't care for the "tempura" fry they offer

Lettuce Rolls: YUM! I do like PF Changs better though... may be the sauce

Seared Ahi Tuna: DELICIOUS! LOVED the Slaw it came with too !

DS18 got the "Beef & Broccoli"... THAT was the BEST of all... wish I had ordered it!

We ordered OOP... did not do DDP last visit because I knew I wanted to try a lot of appy's and order some odd things... plus it was just the 2 of us...

Hugs,
Mary
PS: The Ambience... / decor... was WONDERFUL! MUCH better than PF Changs... and one of the best parts of the experience !

We love Yak & Yeti and feel it's a must do every trip. We've had the egg rolls, pot stickers, lettuce wraps, green beans, duck, ribs, steak & shrimp, pho, mango pie, pineapple wontons, and the sorbet trio. All have always been very good and worth paying OOP for. Our only complaint is that it is the only restaurant at WDW that I freeze to death in. We love to sit upstairs next to a window.

We've also eaten at the CS Yak & Yeti, but were not as impressed.

For those that ate at Y&Y on DDP.... Is it extra to get eggrolls with your meal? From looking at the menus, I am thinking it is, but wanted to know for sure so we can plan accordingly.

Thanks to everyone for your opinions. We decided to give it a try and I made reservations this morning. :)

Egg rolls are considered appetizers, so yes unless you are on the Deluxe Dining Plan they are extra. You get three average size egg rolls/order.

Off topic, but I think their best appetizer are the lettuce wraps and you get a HUGE platter. More than enough for a table to share. I can easily make a meal on just them and I am a big eater.

I was talking about the ones listed on the menu as a SIDE dish. We want to get them either way, just trying to find out if they have to be paid OOP or not.

They'd still be OOP. The only sides that come with the meal are the ones listed with each entree.

Also they will not allow any substitutions there. I love their ribs, but don't eat cole slaw. I asked if I could either substitute another vegetable or even just get a double portion of fried rice instead, but have been told no twice.

Thanks... thats good to know. So am I correct in thinking... the appetizer for $7 something is 3 egg rolls, and the side dish ones (2 menus quote different prices for these one say $5.99 the other $4.99) are singles? If that is the case it would be cheaper for us to get the appetizer one.

Yak and Yeti is one of my favourite table service restaurants. I've eaten there twice, had the steak and shrimp both times, and it was delicious. My husband had the beef and broccoli and the honey chicken. The kids both enjoyed their kids meals, and we all enjoyed the fried green beans. The wontons for dessert are so good. Yak and Yeti is on my must do list every time. As for Flame Tree, my family thought it was disgusting. Most people like it, so we were very disappointed.

I'm leaving in 2 weeks for POFQ...have the free dining but I'm paying OPP for a lunch at Yak & Yeti because we enjoyed it so much last year. Great food..fun decor...you won't be sorry dining there.

This was DS17 favorite restaurant last year.
