Well, even though I made all of our ADRs 3 months ago, DH has changed his golf schedule and now we need to amend things!

Of course, since our trip is next week, our selections are a bit limited.

We were hoping to try Yak&Yeti and have an ADR for lunch one day but it looks like we won't be in AK that day! When I have tried to reschedul -- nothing available.

Can anyone tell me about the Yak&Yeti CS? Is it food, or just beverages?

Thanks!

I enjoy Yak & Yeti counter service. I had the honey chicken and fried rice. I thought it was tasty. My husband prefers Flame tree BBQ over Yak & Yeti.

If you want a TS and can't get an ADR at Yak & Yeti have you considered the Tusker House. DH and I really enjoyed it when we were there in March.

THANK YOU!!!

And I hadn't considered Tusker House, what a great idea!!

We seem to ALWAYS eat at Flame Tree and I am making this the trip of "Try something new!!" so your suggestions are really helpful.

Have a great day!

We were not overly thrilled with Yak n Yeti, either the TS or the CS (have done both). It's not even as good as Panda Express at our local grocery store. But it is okay, esp. when you consider that it's theme park food.

The portions are huge though. I could not believe how much food there was.

I'm looking at Yak & Yeti CS for this year. One the adult menu it lists entrees. Can anyone tell me what is included in an adult meal? Do they come with rice & a drink? Or do buy each item separately? I read you can use a snack credit for the egg rolls, so I'm guessing that is not included in the meal. . .

Can anyone enlighten me?

If you get to the Yak and Yeti early when they first open, you may be lucky enough to score a seat at the bar - you can order anything from the lunch menu right there, and the bar seats are extremely comfortable. We do this on every trip to AK now - a cold Kirin and a Dim Sum basket. Perfect way to take a break, and our kids are old enough to head over on their own to Pizzafari and eat there while we relax.

we just ate at the CS Y&Y at we all really loved it...considering it was blazing hot and crowded that could have tainted our version of this place. But we give it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 and I'd plan to eat there agian. I thought the food was plenty hot and stayed hot all the way through eating and that 's coming from a MOM of 4 little ones.

I've highlighted in red what we ordered.

Happy eating whatever you try.

to be honest yak n yeti quick service imho is really not that great...

We ate there last trip and we really liked it. I had the honey chicken and it was delicious!

Is the CS the same food that you get at the TS inside? we ate at Y&Y TS in September last year and loved it. I'm hesitant to try the CS since I feel like it doesn't get as good reviews as the TS. ;)

IS IT THE SAME FOOD? Like is the honey chicken in the CS meal the same as what you're getting when you sit down with a server??????:confused3

thanks!

We ate at Y&Y CS last month. It is one of the few places you can get shrimp at WDW, especially as a CS meal. The kids had the Shrimp lo mein, so it's shrimp & noodles, which they love. There were maybe 6-8 medium sized shrimp. The portions were a little one the small size it seemed to me. I think we got the beef and the chicken, and I think they came with white rice. If you're using DDP, you can get a drink and a dessert.
I would say that the food was so-so. I would probably go somewhere else next time, but if any of the menu items sound good to you, don't be afraid to give it a try.

We ate there and each of us had honey chicken. It was so-so. Portions were HUGE (and we are big eaters). Egg rolls were quite small and the mango pie thing was very small and very disappointing. It was also quite pricey; for I think $5 more we could have gone to TH.

We had Yak & Yeti CS in June of '08 and it was as good as buffet Chinese. I had the Kung Pao Beef. I think the selections are quite limited. My sister wanted Lo Mein w/o the shrimp and she was told no so I imagine everything is made assembly line style.

I give Y & Y counter service a big thumbs down. Long lines, very little seating (almost none of it shaded), and the food is not good and it is overpriced. Thing 2 notches below Panda Express. I though the shrimp lo mein was disgusting and totally flavorless. The fried rice is decent.

I had the sweet and sour pork twice last year, and it is a bed of rice, topped right to the lid with pork and s&s sauce.... it was huge, hot and very fresh.

Is it as good as my local chinese takeaway, of course not, but for theme park fayre, and a change from traditional quick food, this was heavenly, and I really enjoyed it.

Next trip I will def return.
