We usually do lunch at Yak n Yeti on our Animal Kingdom day. We have the Landry’s card and like the flexibility of stopping for lunch whenever we are hungry. AK closes at 6:00 when we will be there in two weeks. We were thinking of doing dinner there this trip. How close to park closing do they normally accept walk ups (with the Landry’s card)? Anyone have any experience arriving close to park closing?

They will usually take reservations up until nearly to park close, however I don't recommend it. Even though the servers will be nice, they are at the end of their day and want to go home, you may feel rushed or they begin their closing duties while you are still eating. They will try to be discreet, but that "it's time for you to go" vibe can happen. Food isn't always the freshest at the end of the day, either. Some items (sides) are often prepared in batches and the closer it gets to closing, they may not prepare additional, they will make a larger batch prior to close and hope it lasts until the last order comes in. I'd either go at 5pm or at lunch, not close to 6pm. YMMV!

I’d check the MDE app for that day’s hours and use the ending time listed as a guide for last seating time. I just checked, and the app says dinner is until 5:50 PM (AK closing at 6:00).

I have a 5:45pm reservation at Yak n Yeti on Monday - park closes at 6pm. I enjoy having dinner past park close, as it's much less crowded and peaceful walking back to the bus or parking lot. It's also nice as a photographer to be able to take some scenic shots of the park on the way out with nobody in the shot.

FYI-if you make reservations near park close, and are intending on using a bus to get back to your hotel, be aware that the last bus leaves generally an hour after park close.

Which of your items weren't fresh/kinda stale? When they were cleaning up was it like loud and disruptive to your meal or did you just feel awkward?

Woah! I thought Disney had a policy of making sure all Disney guests could bus out of their parks but AK is just a hard bus shutdown one hour after park close?

Disney will accommodate all guests until the park is empty. I've been to the bus stops longer than an hour after close, and they still provided a bus - a cast member will monitor the bus stops and make sure a bus still comes for pickup. Note: we're talking within reason - it doesn't mean if you find someplace to hide behind a bush until 2 hours after close, and no other guests are around, that they'll still send a bus - but they will help you get back even if it requires a Minnie Van and you have to pay for it. Often if it's 1 hr 20 min after close, there are still a few straggling guests heading out and a bus will be summoned - if there are a handful of guests with multiple destinations, I've had a few occasions where the bus takes all remaining guests to Disney Springs where you transfer to your resort bus.
