Yak and Yeti

We really like it a lot. I know there are some negative reviews; but each to his own.

I had the Pho and absolutely loved it and could not believe how many shrimp I got and the condiments and seasonings ( served seperately) were great additions.

Bob had the Chicken Lo Mein and it was pretty standard upscale Chinese.

The desert was great! We shared the trio of sorbets.

We would eat there again. I posted pics of our meal on the "Food Porn" thread and I think it is in the new catagorized by restaurant on one of the "Stickeys"

Hope this helps.

We love the Yak & Yeti. Ended up eating there twice during our last vacation. The food was very good. It's a mix of Chinese, Japanese and Thai. Although I'd say it's mostly Chinese, and if you like eating Chinese food, you'll like Yak & Yeti. They have some very basic dishes for picky-eaters like Egg Rolls, Fried Rice and Sweet & Sour Pork. But there's also some unique dishes with seafood, poultry and beef.

The location is great. It's right in the middle of everything, next to the Flights of Wonder show, Kali River Rapids and Maharajah Jungle Trek. It's also a very short walk to the Kilimanjaro Safaris or Expedition Everest in the other direction.

The theming is very good too. We've been all over the Far East (stationed in Hong Kong for a few years), and we've actually eaten in places just like that in mainland China (I'm referring to the atmosphere, not the food). It's not a jawdropping sight, but it's pretty authentic.

I recommend it, unless you really don't like Asian food. Then you're probably better off somewhere else.

We loved our meal there. I had pho, which I really enjoyed. Not authentic, but good on a cold night. DH had fried fish which he said was ok. DD had the crispy honey chicken and fried rice, she loved it. DS had the baby back ribs, he said it was tender and ate it all very quickly. We shared the lettuce cups with minced chicken and condiments to start.
We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. The service was great, very friendly and quick. Our reservation was a half hour before the park closed. We had a leisurely meal then very slowly walked through a deserted park to the front entrance. We stopped at several places to take pictures. It was really cool. We saw no one until we were near the exits.

I was looking at the menu & just seemed a little unsure as well. However that one dessert, the fried wontons w/ cream cheese & Pineapples looks Heavenly! Regardless, I may have to stop in there for that lol

I'm glad you guys seemed to enjoy Yak and Yeti. Some of the reviews I had read on other websites had me concerned. I'm not really a Chinese food person, but DH really loves it. I guess I can take one for the team just this once. Worse case...I stop and grab a burger somewhere if I don't like the food.

Thanks to everyone.

I was a bit nervous after reading reviews here but we kept the reservation and went April 2nd. It was great and we all really enjoyed our food and the dessert. I felt like my son had a lot to chose from too which was nice. :)

We went in March and loved it as well. I was nervous since reading the bad reviews, but we were hungry and tired, were planning on doing counter service, and I just wanted to sit down away from the crowds and have someone wait on me instead. We got there at 11:30 for lunch without ADRs and had no problem getting a table.

We all got wonton soup, which was delicious; hubby got the steak and shrimp combination (can't remember what it was called) and I had the beef with broccoli. Both cuts of meat were tender and well-flavored. DD got lo mein and enjoyed it as well, even though she's not too keen on Chinese food. Yeah, it was expensive, but so is everything at Disney. We each had quite a bit of leftovers and didn't have room for any dessert (though they looked fantastic). We will definitely go back on our next trip.
