Yak and Yeti: TS vs QS food

We ate TS Yak and Yeti this year when we went and loved the food. We're trying to decide if we want to eat here again or do another restaurant. The other restaurant is Flame Tree Barbecue. I can't eat pork so I was thinking when they eat at Flame Tree Barbeque I could grab QS Yak and Yeti.
I understand that the two are owned by different companies (TS is Landrys and QS is Disney). My biggest question is, is the QS food THAT different from the TS food? I would get the honey chicken QS. I ate that at the TS restaurant this year and loved it. If the QS version is like the TS I'll be fine.
I'm just curious to see what others think of the QS Yak and Yeti. I'd much rather eat at the TS but can't always get what you want. Thanks in advance for replies!

Yak & Yeti QS is not at all the same quality food as the TS location. Could your group be persuaded to compromise on a different restaurant altogether? How about Tusker House? I personally love their breakfast. Some people deliberately make a very late breakfast reservation in the hopes of catching the change in service and getting to sample both breakfast and lunch foods.

Is the QS still run by Disney and not Landry's? Because I read on the Disney Moms Panel that Landry's gift cards can be used at the QS location now and in the past Landry's cards could only be used at TS.

I believe our TS no-fish allergy Honey Chicken was prepared at the QS kitchen, (chef said they would have to use the neighboring kitchen) so I think those items are very similar.

they are pretty darn identical, and for QS its a solid choice. we always grab it and carry to where ever the others are eating

I can't speak to if Landry's does or doesn't own the quick service, but while it does have some of the same menu items as the TS the reality is the quality really isn't there. If you go in eyes wide open knowing that, it isn't bad, just don't expect what you got in the restaurant.

As for Flame Tree it is our favorite QS in AK. Understanding you can't eat pork, their Chicken is really good as are the onion rings. I'd pick that over Y&Y QS any day of the week

I'll have to look at the menu again! I didn't realize they had chicken the first time I saw the menu! Thanks for the tip!

I think we're planning on eating there another day. Not set in stone though. Flame Tree Barbecue is a you pick/I pick to make food choices fair.

That's what I planned on doing! Grabbing my food then meeting them at Flame Tree Barbecue. I'd rather them get seats there because Barbecue can be messy food!

I get the fried rice from Y&Y QS pretty often. It is enough for a meal for me since I'm a light eater and not very expensive. Remember if you are doing QS they have the harambe market place with different QS options. I've yet to try it but just because we've fallen in love with Nomad Lounge and it's our go to for afternoons at AK. Also, don't rule out Pandora, the food is a little different but pretty good.

We've eaten at both....loved both. Wish Y&Y QS had more outdoor seating, but the food was very good.
