Yak and Yeti - reviews please

yak and yeti is a beautiful restaurant indoors and has nice views of the park from the upstairs. Menu has a lot of variety, though not quite as much vegetarian fare as I would have liked. Husband had the lo mein which was decent (we live near a place at home with the BEST lo mein) and I had the mahi mahi which was quite good. Our waiter was very nice, good service. I would definitely go back.

I always seem to be in the minority on Yak & Yeti. ;)
This past Sept it was the worst meal we had in terms of service and food. The potstickers were ok...the dipping sauce was sooo salty.
I had the honey chicken and it was cold tough little breaded things in a terribly over-sweet sauce with no flavor. Dh had some beef dish (the name escapes me) and the meat was very, very chewy. The kids had chicken bites that were the same hard cold nuggets as mine and ice cold fries that were like sticks. The service was terrible.
This is the one place in all of the World that we will nevery go back to.:sad2:

Another one that doesn't care for it. I used the DxDDP there last May and again this past Sept. In May, I had a ditz for a waitress. She was nice enough, but didn't have a clue what she was doing. She insisted I had to place my entire order at one time, then I waited forever for her to return. Lo and behold she brought out both my appetizer and entree on the same tray, then didn't understand when I insisted she return the entree to the kitchen. After I finished my appetizer, I had to finally wave her down to get my entree and the ditz brought out my duck ice cold, then didn't understand why I didn't want it. Also despite asking for a soda refill multiple times I never did get it. When she finally brought my dessert the ice cream was almost completely melted, so I got only a few bites of my pineapple wontons and basically no ice cream with it.:headache: She then had the nerve to charge me a credit, even though I couldn't touch my cold, greasy, duck and barely touched my dessert since it was drowned in melted ice cream. Basically all I had for that meal was the fried green beans, since she refused to get me a hot duck entree.

We went back in Sept and again my entree (steak and shrimp) was cold when I finally got it. The mango pie was pretty good though. My food doesn't have to be red hot out of the oven, but I do want it at least fairly warm. In Sept my mom got egg rolls that were dripping in grease and also an entree she did not care for. I don't think she ate but a few bites of her meal.

I'm with the "thumbs down" gang. I reviewed Yak & Yeti while still the critic for the Orlando Sentinel. My conclusion was that it was misnamed: it should be called Yuk and Yeti.
This is not a Disney-operated restaurant. Yak & Yeti is owned and operated by Landry, the same company that owns the Rainforest Cafes and T-Rex. The CEO of the company took great umbrage with the review, and even called my bosses to complain. His biggest argument was that he had taken several Disney executives to the restaurant and their food was great! Well, um, OK.
I'll recommend it if you can arrange to dine with a Disney executive.
Otherwise, if you love Chinese food, look for it elsewhere.

I have to completely agree with this. Dine with Disney executives or don't go. We had really been looking forward to this restaurant since we once lived in Nepal. We knew the food wouldn't be authentic (not a lot of demand in the US for orange goat), but were just going to enjoy the atmosphere and decor.

My shrimp tempura was pretty good, but the service was the worst - and given how rushed and indifferent almost all our table service meals were at WDW this trip that was saying a lot.
