I'm planning a trip for friends for May. They have Teppan Edo on their list, but I can't get an ADR that fits the schedule. Would Yak and Yeti sit-down be a good subsitute for food type or are they too different? I know the whole cook in front of you thing would be missing, but what about the food similarities?

Thanks!!

We have never done Teppan Edo because DS (1) is to small. But I can tell you that we loved Yak & Yeti so much in Feb. that we already have an ADR for our upcoming trip in Sept.

Happy Planning,
Mrs. Disney Ron

Can I jump in here? What is Yak & Yeti? It is listed as a snack, a CS and a TS restaurant. I want a TS in AK, but already going to Boma so someone said don't go to Tusker. Is there a Yak & Yeti TS menu somewhere on line? Anyone know if they take ADRs 180 days out? I have read a lot of frustration about delayed openings and no ADRs, but I assume everything is up and running now. We love anything Asian (DD is Asian), so this may be just the thing we're looking for. Thanks.

Here's the menu

It has a CS walk up window as well, but this is the TS menu.

I prefer Teppan Edo over Yak and Yeti. The food is sooo much better. However, we had the world's slowest Hibachi chef last time... took over 1.5 hours to eat.

I agree. Y&Y seemed like cheap take-out by comparison, and the atmosphere of a Japanese steakhouse is so much more fun. That said, there aren't a ton of sit-down options at AK, and it's certainly edible.

Yes they do , we have a ADR there for dinner in August

Yak and Yeti kids
All items are served with choicie of carrot sticks,
applesauce cup, fruit punch gellatin or chicken fried rice
Mini Burger
Vegetable Lo Main
Chicken Bites
Egg Roll

Dessert - Ice Cream Sundae $1.49

Add a kid-sized portion of milk or apple juice in a souvenir cup.

Soft drinks or french fries available upon request

We ate at both last week.

Yak & Yeti was a nice TS lunch option in the middle of a hot AK day. I had the Sweet and Sour chicken b/c I love the huge chunks of bell peppers and onions. It was very good. DH had the steak and shrimp. The steak was huge. He enjoyed it and couldn't even eat 1/2 of it. The shrimp were good as well. We both had the chocolate brownie sundae and let me tell you, this is a meal all on it's own. Overall I was very pleased. It's a gorgeous restaurant and the food was very good. And oh yeah, the Yak Attack is a delish frozen drink if you choose.

Teppan Edo was fantastic. We've never done this kind of dining before and had a great time. I had the chicken and shrimp and it was all wonderful. DH had the steak and shrimp and again it was great. Everything from the noodles to veggies to meat were cooked perfectly and we were even wanting more. I had a few sake martini's that I can't remember what they are called and DH had regular sake which he likes.

So I don't think you can go wrong with either choice if you like Chinese/Asian food!

:confused3

Would it be wise to book them both on the same day??? Like Y&Y for lunch and then TE for supper??? Or are they too similiar???

Thanks everyone! I rearranged a couple of things and got Teppan Edo for lunch for them. I think it will work out now.
