I just made reservations here and I'm curious how it compares to Le Cellier. This trip is completely spur of the moment, so no advanced planning. Obviously reservations at Le Cellier were out of the question (I tried), so I booked at the Yachtsman. Is it any good?

Yachtsman is excellent. I think it is much better than Le Cellier. More steak options as well as other entrees. The atmosphere is quieter, roomier and more luxurious. I have never had a bad experience there, and it is walking distance to EPCOT and DHS.

I think Yachtsman Steakhouse is one of the best signatures. The appetizers are wonderful, and recently the menu has incorporated some innovative, delicious desserts. There are quite a few steak options on the menu, as well as some other options such as chicken, salmon, pork, and a vegetarian entree. Service has usually been very good. I really like Le Cellier's mushroom filet with truffle butter, but for the overall experience I think Yachtsman is better.

While I don't think Yachtsman is as good as Shulas, I do think it's better than Le Cellier. I have always been happy with the service at Yachtsman.

Yachtsman is better than Le Cellier in every respect (food, service, ambience, etc.). Well worth a visit.

I love YSH!! It is one of our favorite signatures (after FF and Narcoossee's) While I love Le Cellier as well, I think YSH is much better. I usually order a ribeye when I go, and each time it was fantastic!!

Oh this is good news! Thanks for the info everyone. We love a good steak dinner, so I think we'll enjoy it. I'm excited now!:goodvibes

You should definately give it a try. But I was less than impressed. Our service wasn`t that great. DH liked it more than me. My steak was over cooked. But DD loved the chocolate puzzle ;) DH would try it again but I am not anixous to:upsidedow

From a quality standpoint, I like Yachtsman better. rom a value standpoint, I think Le cellier is better. Not that Le Cellier is simply cheaper, but I think you get more bang for your buck.

But ALOT depends on whether or not you would be using the DDP.

Le Cellier is only a better "bang for your buck" meal at lunch. Dinner there is 2 credits, just like Yachtsman.

We used to like YSH, but that was back when ( way back when before the DDP) they had a lobster/filet combo. I had a horrible experience with a server a few years ago though and I'll never go back. It's worth a try for anyone though- nice ambience for sure.---Kathy

We had an amazing meal there in Feb...we do have LC booked because DH wanted to see how it is now that its a signature but the reviews have not been good so I think I am going to cancel it for Artists Point.

Really it's hard to compare between the two, Yachtsman is by far Superior to Le-cellier> Le-cellier is called a steakhouse but they only offer 2 types of steak and neither are very good, Yachtsman is great, they age the steaks and cook it right.

We loved Yachtsman. Steaks are huge and wonderful. Garlic, butter and bread really good. Cheese plate is the best I have had at Disney loved it more then California's Grills.

Dessert was not good though, next time I plan to get a different app and have my cheese plate as dessert :cool1:

Lecellier- pretzel bread and soup is good, so is the filet with rissotto but lunch steaks are are really small. Desserts here are good. This is a nice lunch place but not a Signtature like Yahchtsman to me.

I would say the Yachtsman Steakhouse is wonderful for the atmosphere and we had great service. The chocolate puzzle was so neat! My DD, painted it with food coloring, but didn't eat it . :confused3
However, both the hubs and I much preferred Le Cellier's filet mignon. and we had a great server! We're going back in October! :thumbsup2

Our meals at LC have gone downhill with the addition of the dining plan. Yachtmans has remained excellent. Especially enjoy their risotto.
