Recently, as in last July. We had a lovely meal there, and a wonderful, albeit shortened experience for part of our family. Now, we do have a 13 year old and a (then) 3 year old. Our daughter was up fresh from a nap shortly before we got there and behaved quite nicely for most of the meal. We had finished our salads and entrees' when she began to fidget a bit. She wasn't loud and didn't disturb anyone else, but with a 3-year old, you never know. Since it is a fairly reserved restaurant and most people there want to enjoy a nice dining experience, my daughter and I ordered our dessert to go and my husband and son stayed for theirs, lingered over coffee & the desserts and then brought ours back to the room. Our server was happy to oblige packing ours to go and actually asked why we were leaving. When we explained that we were seeing signs of future discontent, he thanked us for noticing before it was a problem. He did tell us that many people who bring kids aren't really prepared to deal with problems and often ignore crying and screaming because they "paid so much for their meal". Well, we know how much we paid, and we respected the other patrons and workers the same way we hope they would respect us. So, was it an inconvenience, yes...but, that's part of parenting, even in WDW.
Sorry, I digress, but I have noticed a lot more people with noisy kids there and it can detract from the experience. We have enjoyed Yachtsman's for several years though, and haven't noticed any decrease in quality of food, certainly not in decor and atmosphere, and have always had great CMs.
Just our experience, enjoy!
