Yachtsman Steakhouse????????

We're thinking about trying the Yachtman Steakhouse for dinner on our next trip. I would like all reviews, both good and bad. Its never too early to start planning. Thanks!

We thought the food was excellent, but our server was not fantastic. You didn't feel in DisneyWorld though because it was so quiet.

We've never had a bad meal or a bad waitor/waitress at Yachtsman and we continue to return very year. This is our favorite restaurant at DisneyWorld and a must do

We ate there a month ago. The food and service were both excellent, although I did have to explain a couple of the cheeses on the cheese plate to the waiter. (He had a hard time pronouncing a couple of the cheeses. I just told the correct pronounciation and where the cheeses were from. No big deal).

Other than that, everything was fabulous and that's not something I easily say about steakhouses. We are from Nebraska, capital of the steakhouse. If there is one thing Nebraskans understand, it is how to cook a steak.

We will eat there again in the future, no doubt.

I know one of them was Manchego, which is from Spain. I will ask my husband if he remembers what the other one was. For the life of me, I cannot recall it right now. Sorry.

Been there 3 times. Twice, it was EXCELLENT. We may have hit an off night on that middle visit.

We ate there last September on the dining plan. We were VERY excited to eat there after reading all the glowing reviews. We had a horrible experience and will never eat there again. First, we sat there forever waiting for our waiter. He finally came and took our drink order but never brought us any bread. We asked for some bread, and after another 15 minutes we still didn't have any bread, so we asked a busboy for some and he finally brought it. When it came it was cold and dry. My husband and I both ordered the surf and turf. We asked for our steaks to be medium- well, but when they brought out our steaks they were totally raw in the middle. I'm not talking a little pink here; they were raw!! So, we had to send them back. They stuck our lobster under the warming lights while they re-cooked our steaks, so that when they brought it back the lobster was rubbery and had no flavor. Our waiter continued to ignore us throughout the meal. We watched tables all around us receiving wonderful service, but for some reason we didn't enjoy the same treatment. I'm not sure what happened, because everybody else seems to love the Yachtsman, but we didn't.

We had a very good exp, great service and great food. We ate until we were stuffed and then ate some more Our waitress was so helpful in choosing wine/beer selections and other items. The atmosphere was very nice and a good change from the hub bub of family dining. Very few families, more upscale attire, more business travelers. We loved that!

The only negative I will say is that the cut of filet did not wow me like I expected. It was good, no doubt, but all 3 of us were suprised it wasn't "knock your socks off" good. That opinion was cemented when we tried the filet at Citricos just 5 months later it melted in my mouth. I ate that filet SO slowly because it was the most delicious cut of meat I've ever had. Same 3 people again and we all determined that Citricos had beat Yachtsman out on the quality of meat.

Would we return to Yachtsman again? Of course - we had a great time and good food. I'm sure you'll have a great time as well

Thanks so much for all the responses! We're staying at the BCV next trip, so we thought we'd try the restaurants at Y and B and BW. It will be just DH and myself, so YSH sounds like a perfect "adult" spot. We love to tour the parks at a leisurely pace and also enjoy a few special meals. I'm also considering Coral Reef and Spoodles, so if you have any reviews, I'd love to hear them. I'll also post a new thread for those restaurants. I can always depend on you fellow Dissers to help me plan. Thanks!!!!!!!

Hi!

My family and I had a wonderful meal there. It was nice to have a fantastic rest. at your resort. The waiter was very nice and always refilling the drinks. The food came out hot and just the way we wanted our steaks. We decided to do the C.Grill this year just to try something new.

I hope you choose to go to the YS.

If you like steak so tender you can cut it with your fork, then YES it is an excellent place to go! We are steak lovers, and it was the best I had ever eaten. It melted in my mouth.
