DH and I have eaten at many of the Signature restaurants, and loved each and every one.

We are going for a short 4 night trip in February, and would like to book just one Signature dinner.

My husband is dead-set on Artist Point - he loves the Buffalo and the Portobello Soup!

However, we have never tried Yachtsman Steakhouse. It looks delicious, and I love spending the evening on the Boardwalk!

Well, DH does not like the "charred" taste of meat. He prefers his meat to be seared, he can't stand the charry outside of a good steak. I, on the other hand, like most people, love it. ;)

So I'm wondering - does Yachtsman char their steaks? If not, is it worth the Siggie to dine there, or should we just stick with what we know and love?

They didn't char my Porter House! It was fantastic, we had a great meal...I was really weighing gong to Shula's because of similar concerns but our dinner and service was fantastic!

I have to add this plug....my favorite place to eat, esp if it's just my DW and I is Jiko! Take a look at the menu. We ate at Artist Point our last Anniversary trip and enjoyed it but not as much as Jiko's!

I don't remember anything I've ever had there being charred. I suppose it might depend on which steak you order, but the servers have always been very upfront about exactly how everything is going to be prepared, so I think you'd be okay.

Personally, I would definitely go with Yachtsman over Artist Point. I used to really love Artist Point, but lately have been kinda disappointed. They did away with my favorite appetizer, the venison spring rolls (changed to pot stickers, which were awful), and the bison sirloin is nowhere near as good as it used to be. Last time we went the service was also not so good, which REALLY surprised and disappointed me.

We always order their filet mignon and not a spot of char in sight!! We love Yachtsman's and highly recommend it (and you're right -- there are so many options for lovely strolls before or after dinner!).

We love both AP and YSH. Tell your husband not to worry about his steak being charred at YSH. They listen to what you request and will cook it exactly as asked. Just be clear to your server about what you want.
