I am conflicted. We are going down to WDW next week to celebrate our anniversary. I can't decide which restaurant to dine at for our anniversary dinner.

If you have dined at either, please help. Which would you choose and why?

Thanks!

Kelly

Yachtsman, no doubt! Yachtsman is a top notch, upscale, true steakhouse. It's a quiet, more adult environment with superb service. Steaks were delicious and equivelent to those found at steakhouses at home (real steakhouses, not Outback or the like). Dinner was casual enough to be comfy, but not themepark casual. It was relaxed, not crowded, few children running around, bright and airy, and an evening to enjoy. We were not rushed, and took our time lingering over wine, courses, and then coffee and dessert.

We had an 8pm PS when we went, there were no families there but just couples and some adults on business. It was a nice change! I adore children more than anything, but it's nice to get away and enjoy a wonderful meal in the presence of adults. We sat overlooking Stormalong Bay and even was able to see glimpses of the higher fireworks from Illuminations - a nice treat!

Just my opinion =)

LeCellier, but we find service to be questionable at times......

In my opinion, there is no contest. Not only is The Yachtman's better than LeCellier, but I think it's one of the best in all WDW.
The Yachtman's is much more refined, as well as "unhurried". That's probably because it's at a resort instead of in a theme park. Because of that, there will also be less children (probably) to distract you from a nice evening.
The atmosphere is much more elegant at Yachtman.
The price also reflects the higher quality...

Have fun!... :drinking:

We've had dinner at both places more than once and would definitely choose the Yachtsman. We've always had great service. The food is much better IMO.

I've never eaten at Le Cellier, but have eaten at Yachtsman, and would recommend it, without a doubt. Wonderful food (best filet mignon I've ever had) and superb service. Waitstaff who seemed to appear out of nowhere as soon as we needed anything (or when my champagne glass was due for a refill!) yet did not hover over us. Wonderful, wonderful restaurant!

Another vote for Yachtsman! While we liked our meal at Le Cellier, YSH was an amazing meal all around. We dined there on our anniversary last year and are going back this year...in 10 days :cool1:

Both are very good. But my choice is consistently the Yachtsman. I love the somewhat more "refined" and quieter atmosphere there. And I've never been disappointed in the filet. Of course the pull-apart onion rolls with roasted garlic before hand are pretty special too!

If you go to Yachtsman, request Oscar for your server. He's very attentive, knowledgable and outgoing.

Oh, that garlic... YUM

I had the most amazing scallop appetizer there, too. I wanted to lick the plate.

We have never dined at Yachtsman Steakhouse. After reading such great reviews I think we will be eating there in September.

Both are very good and we have enjoyed both, but I agree for a special occassion I would go with Yachtsman, for atmosphere and service.

We too have found the service at Le Cellier to be both very good and not so good.

Also the atmosphere at Yachtsman is more sophisticatic since it is not in a park.

Both are very enjoyable. I think part of it depends on whether or not you'll be in Epcot for dinner. The dessert sampler at YS is outstanding

Our hands down vote goes to the YMSH!!! we dined there the day after our wedding we had an early priority seating and had nearly the entire restaurant to ourselves! when they found out we were just marrid the day before they put us in this little alcove and turned down the lights real low!! and on the PLUS side our wine was comped!! wooohoo!! the bread and garlic were fantastic and the service phenomenal!

Another Vote for Yachtsman's!!
We have eaten and enjoyed both places, but for a special occasion you can't beat Yachtsman's!!!

Enjoy!!

We have only been to Yachtsman's and I had the filet migon and could cut it with a fork......it was delicious...........creme boulee for dessert.....was awesome.

Thanks for all the great comments. It looks like I'll be keeping my PS for July 22nd. CamColt, maybe we'll see you there!

We've eaten at both Le Cellier and Yachtsman and my vote goes to Yachtsman hands down...That filet mignon and creme brulee for dessert are to die for!!! Have a great trip!!!
