I wanted to write a review about the meal me and my boyfriend took at Yachtsman Steakhouse. Let me begin by saying we were nervous going here as it was my Boyfriends birthday and only 2 weeks before my parents had gone to the restaurant for my Dads birthday and had an awful meal so there was a lot riding on this one but we decided to go for it

We checked in and were given a pager so went to the Crews Lounge next door for a beer before hand. I choose Bud Light Lime and Dan choose Sam Adams Ockotoberfest both of which were nice:

It was only a few minutes however until our table was ready. We were given personalised menus which were fantastic

We decided to scrap the beer and get a nice bottle of wine

For starter neither of us were that fussed on anything so we both decided to opt for the Ceasar Salad. Without a word of a lie this was the best salad I have ever eaten. Every leaf had the perfect amount of ceasar dressing on and the crisp on top was fantastic

This was served with some lovely bread including a pull and peel onion bread and a sour dough roll. I loved the onion bread and dan prefered the sour dough so this gave me the chance to have more YEAH! There was also some garlic to spread on it which we both loved.

Oh and yes I had already stolen a roll from the basket hence there were 3 lol! We ended up getting a second basket of these

For mains after some discussion with our waitress Carolin we decided on different steaks.

I opted for a Medium Well Filet Mignon but as I am not a fan of potatoes unless I make them myself I swapped the potato for the Creamed Spinach with Parmesan. Carolin suggested that the steak was butterflied and it came out perfect, although there was far too much meat.

I also ordered a side of the Mushroom Caps but found these a little too salty

Dan went for something different and tried the Wagu Beef. For anyone not sure what this is but this is the meat where they treat the cattle like Gods, feeding them beer, playing them music and even massaging them daily to ensure they have no stress whatso ever. He changed the mashed potato for the Horseradish Mash as he liked the sound of this and shared some of my mushrooms.

Well we failed on this. As you can see below the Wagu Beef was beautifully cooked and Dan managed to eat it all in the end but I couldn't finish my steak or anywhere near half of the creamed spinach

We decided to give up and cut our losses as there was no point making ourself feel ill.

Actually I think the food was amazing and the service was fantastic so overall a brilliant meal. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the mushrooms had so much salt on. They tasted nice but the salt made them inedible.

Definately 9/10

Also would say the pictures don't do the food justice! They don't show anywhere near how the food came out

That creamed spinach looks wonderful, and to think I was there and missed this! We liked what we had there very much, but if the spinach is still being served on our next trip, I will be trying it!

Thanks for the review, glad you enjoyed your meal!

The spinach is fantastic! Honestly its the nicest I've tasted! Very rich but very good.

Great review - that beef sounds amazing. Disappointed you couldn't manage dessert though ;)

Hope people find it useful! I know I found the reviews on here really helpful!

Great review, I love Yachtsman steakhouse, can't wait to eat there again. Hopefully in May.:)

Thanks for the review. We are eating dinner there one night on our upcoming trip. I can't wait! :thumbsup2

We ate at steakhouse last year on Christmas Eve for our family trip....I must say that is was WONDERFUL. It was the best filet, potatoes, and wine. The atmosphere is awesome. Just an very inviting and great place to eat. AMazing that such great restaurants are included on the dining plan! I would also say the same for the Brown Derby in MGM/HOllywood Studios. It was also a great experience.

We go to disney about 3-4 times and year and we never miss eating at the Yaghtsman. Great service, great food. I will admit that every once in a while I was a little dissappointed with something. But that can be said with everywhere. They have always gone out of their way to make our dinner wonderful. I think they are one of the better steak restaurants at disney.

Thanks so much for this review. DH and I are going in 35days and we have reservations here. Im tempted to try that Wagyu beef but am a little nervous. The creamed spinach looks amazing!

Can I ask how the attire was? This is the only 2TS credit meal we have and Im wondering how the dress there is. I know about the dress code but figured Id ask what the feel of the place is. Thanks :)

Thanks for posting your review. We ate here last night and I agree on the mushrooms. We had them in September and they were perfect! last night very very salty, i did not enjoy them at all, and DH ate them.

Great beef though, cooked perfectly!

Wagyu is currently not on the menu - not sure when it will be back on. The menu does change quite regularly depending on season and availability of products.

Dress code is business casual - most people when I have been there have been kakhi's and a top. You can wear jeans as long as no holes in them and a polo shirt or t shirt without writing. The later the reservation the more people are dressed up I have noticed.

Have a great time!
