We are staying at BCV over Easter break. Just wondering if this restaurant is kid friendly or is it more of an adult crowd. We have two little ones 1 1/2 and 4. Also, what is the dress for dinner time? We would love to try this place because we have heard so many good things about it.

Thanks

Yes it is kid friendly, very expensive for the quality of food you get. Steaks are definately low grade beef.

We went with our ds when he was a year a half. It's not as child friendly as a character breakfast but we had no trouble. No problems and the food was wonderful and service excellent. Go for it and enjoy!

NO VERY GOOD QUALITY BEEF BUT YES IT IS PRICEY We have never had a bad meal there , it's on our must do list :cool1:

Actually the beef at Yachtsman is HIGH QUALITY and melts in your mouth. We love the Yachtsman and being big steak eaters, can honestly say we have NEVER had a better steak anywhere in the United States, and we have eaten in MANY steakhouses. The service is fantastic and they will definitely make your kids feel right at home.

Shula's is a better steakhouse, but the Yachtsman is good and is far more family oriented.

I agree with eeoyore62 that the YSH is high quality and the steak excellent. And yes, dznyntnh, Shula's is better, but also a lot more expensive (but worth it, DS is now tryig nto get us to go to the one in NYC)

Definitely good food and service and very child friendly. I am not a beef eater but still love to go and always find things to enjoy. DS13 loves their filet mignon. He has never been treated badly and has always been made to feel welcome - 9 years now!

The yachtsman was always one of our favorite resturants. Our last visit there was not good.It was our traditional easter dinner spot.We went there 8 or 9 years in a row.
The steaks were mediocre at best.
The service was below average.
In prior visits I compared the Yachtsman to the top New York Steak houses.
It was no longer true.
I questioned our waiter at flying fish who told us that there were new mangement at the resturant and ever since they took over he ahd heard bad things. He cliaimed that most of the old staff left. They hired new staff at lower wages.
This was three years ago.
Last year we went to Shulas it was very good. The prices were what you would expect at top scale steakhouse.I think they were compable to the Yachtsman"s prices.
We have decided not to go back to Yachtsman.

As for kid friendly we did not have the kids at shulas.
Again in past years the staff at the yachtsman were great.
our last visit they were they were not.

When I posted my original bad review of Yachtsman..it seems to be the case..if you are a satisfied customer who has returned recently..service and quality are way down. Our bill for 7 people was close to $500, definately a waste of time and money.

As referenced in an earlier thread, we thought the food was excellent, but the service condescending; as per our MYW Dining Plan usage (takes 2). Seems people either hate or love the place. I wasn't expecting the Outback but I had hoped for an enjoyable evening for our meal for 2 adults & 1 child of $180.
