We’re trying to decide on a nice dinner for filet (for me) and surf and turf (for DH) for our October trip. I think we’ve narrowed it down to Yachtsman or Narcoossee’s. Which is better and why? DS, almost 11, will also be with us.

We've had great dinners at both. You didn't mention where you were staying, maybe chose the one that's easier to get to ?? If you pick the right time and have a table along the windows at Narcoossee's you can see some of the fireworks from MK !

From a food perspective, I'd say that they are both on par, though I personally would not suggest lobster at any on-property restaurant except for Shula's. I'd give the nod to Narcoossee's in terms of ambiance. While they are both sort of generic in that sense, Narcoossee's provides you the view of Seven Seas Lagoon. Now, with the kid in tow, I would definitely do Narcoossee's due to the view of the fireworks.

We’re staying at POR so I think Yachtsman would be easier to get to (boat over to DS and catch a bus or Uber). We actually have an adr for Narcoossee’s on Thurs 10/18 at 7:30. I hadn’t realized you could see the fireworks from inside there. Maybe we will keep that one then. The fireworks will be the Hallowishes that night at 10:15. While I’m sure dinner will be over by then we can always hang out and view from somewhere else.

Last time I was at Yachtsman (a Sat night in Oct 2015 during F&W) it was almost rowdy. Much louder than I expected. Food and service were great but more casual vibe than I expected.

We ate at Narcoossees on our last trip and I was very impressed. I had a unique summer salad that was so great I want to recreate it at home. It had pickled blackberries and cornbread croutons. DH's lobster bisque was out of this world. For entrees we had the scallops (me) and the filet (him) and split a side of brussels sprouts. This was all very good, but the real standout was the almond crusted cheesecake. The service was some of the most professional I've experienced at Disney and I was especially impressed at the waiter's attention to our two daughters. He made sure the meal pacing was to their liking as well as ours (bringing their entrees out right away with our apps). This was such a nice tough for us.

It's not really a fair comparison because I haven't been to Yachtsman in almost 3 years, and Narcoosees is so fresh in my mind. You can't go wrong with either but just wanted to add a positive review for Narcoossees.

I just watched a review of Yachtsman on YouTube and noticed the noise level was pretty high and it wasn’t even that crowded. The person even commented that it was loud in there.

We had our anniversary dinner at narcoossees in June. We’ve never been to yachtsman but stayed at YC and when we walked past it was pretty noisy. Narcoossees wasn’t exactly quiet but less so. The service was amazing at Narcoossees and the food was great. We went outside to the veranda to watch the fireworks and they held our entrees until the end of the fireworks. As soon as we walked in our plates appeared.

Yachtsman hands down. I have had some horrible experiences at Narcoosees and the food is just flat out better at Yachtsman.

I book Narcoossees when we want to see the fireworks after dinner. Be prepared to watch from the veranda because many times, even if you are seated by the window, people are standing in front of them. I like both, so I always suggest book what is either most convenient or what suits your plans for the evening. If your boy would enjoy the evening entertainment along the Boardwalk, book YSH. The food and service are good, and noise is relative. You really will not find a quiet restaurant in WDW, IMO> some are just less noisy then others.

If your goal s to see the fireworks, then book Narcoossees. I have never had a less than stellar meal there, although I have seen some reviews that show others have not been as lucky. My dinner disaster was at YSH, but every restaurant is going to have a bad night, and I was there on one of theirs.

We ate at both places for the first time last year and thought Narcossees was much better. We both had the surf and turf and it was very good. The view is better. We had a window seat at Yachtsman but all our “view” was of was people in their swimsuits at Stormalong Bay.

My mom and I recently ate at Narcoosee's and had a wonderful experience! We ate late (8:20pm reservation) and we were able to see the fireworks from the restaurant. They pipe the music in, and you can take your wine outside on the veranda to watch them. There's also the Electric Water Pageant that comes in right after the fireworks finish. Our waitress timed it so that our food came out right when the fireworks ended. I ate the best filet mignon of my life, and my mom's scallops were DIVINE. I would definitely go back!

No one actually asked this question?

DDP, TIW, or OOP?

There are better, or poorer, dining options, based on what your economic plans are.

Yachtsman is GROSS!!! Go eat at a Denny's and you'll get better food not to mention the service is terrible.
