Yachtsman or Le Cellier?

I'm stuck between picking either the Yachtsman Steakhouse or the Le Cellier Steakhouse. I heard both are really good. I'm staying at the Beach Club so location-wise both restaurants are easy. I'm leaning more towards Le Cellier just by a little. Thanks for the help!

I think the yachtsman is better quality food and service. The price is more though too, but worth it IMO.

Yachtsman, no contest. The food is better, the atmosphere is better, and the tables aren't all crammed together. Ask for a table with a view of Storm-a-long Bay!

Yachtsman without question.

Le Cellier is super popular because you can get a decent Filet Mignon with only 1 credit on the dining plan. Without this, 1/2 the threads would not be here....its really not THAT fantastic...just a good value.

Yachtsman is a real steakhouse..but you do pay for it! Absolutely delicious. Ambiance is 1000% better, staff is MUCH more professional and knowledgable..great meal and very relaxing..top restaurant.

An even better steak place is right nearby--Shulas.
But of the two you are considering, Yachtsman is much the better choice.

really depends on when you're going...since Le Cellier fully books up 180 days in advance you might not actually have a choice between the two. Yachtsman's is easier to get into (though pricier, too.)

The Yachtsman is my #2 favorite "Signature" restaurant on Disney property (#1 is the California Grill). I think the ambiance and the food at the Yachtsman are both wonderful, and it's one of my "Must-Do's" on every trip.

If you are on the DP I would go to Le Cellier if you can while it is still 1TS.

Next trip do Yachtsman when they are both 2TS.

I've been to Morton's, as well as other highly looked upon steak houses, and I believe that Le Cellier is on-par with them all. I get the NY strip with the butter sauce and mashed potatoes and it is really delicious. I have also had the filet, and yes it too is good. I haven't yet tried Yachtsman, but Le Cellier is legit regardless, it's not just hyped up. Both can be pricey, though Le Cellier can be reasonable for lunch if you get a special or sandwich.

We did both last December and have both booked again for this December. I voted for Yachtsman for the same reasons as others have stated. We were paying out of pocket last year and we did spend almost double at Yachtsman but to us it was worth it. Also we did dinner at Yachtsman (with 2 glasses of wine) and had lunch at Le Cellier (without wine). I've got to have my cheddar cheese soup at Le Cellier and their delicious bread (not just the pretzel bread).

I loved walking over from our Beachclub Villa to Le Cellier for dinner the first night of our vacation last year.

We did Le Cellier because of the ddp - and it was delicious! We wished we had booked there every night!

I can't wait to try Yachtsman!

We loved LeCellier when we went in February. It was our first time dining there, and we are going back this August b/c we enjoyed it so much. We've never eaten at the Yachtsman, but plan to go back in 2012 with my parents who love steak.

I don't think you can go wrong with either option. Good luck deciding and have a magical trip!!

I didn't say they were getting it from Kroger, what I said it is the same GRADE as what you would get at your typical grocery store (e.g., Kroger) Mortons uses PRIME steak. Yachtsman is using something below that and Le Cellier is using something below that. Anyone who sells prime steak is plastering it all over the menu simply because it is so much more expensive and any steak connoisseur can tell the difference between grocery store steak and prime steak.

Disney is great at marketing. They are slapping $30 price tags on sub par meat simply because they have a trapped audience. You are getting a Outback Steakhouse steak at a Morton's price. Eat at a Disney steakhouse because it is convenient or you want the "experience" of dining in a theme park, but don't fool yourself into believing you are getting a superior cut of meat above a grocery.

Lecellier is a good use of a 1 table service credit. The steak there is pretty good , but not as good as 2 credit places I have been to.

trust me Walt himself is glad that you are drinking the Disney kool-aid and willing to pay top dollar for a subpar steak simply because it is in WDW. Everyone here raves about LC because they think it is such a "great value" on the DDP. Would you still think it is a great value if you walked into your local Outback Steakhouse and the price was jacked up 150% and they said your waiter was from Canada?

Sure I have eaten at many WDW establishments but in no way am I fooling myself in believing it is gourmet or fine dining. We eat at TS restaurants because we want to be served by a waiter, have cocktails brought to us, etc.
