Yachtsman or Le Cellier

Help? I'm making ADR's on Thursday and can't decide between Yachtsman Steakhouse or Le Cellier. Any suggestions?

They are quite different since Yachtsman is a Signature Restaurant where Le Cellier isn't.

Personally I prefer the Yachtsman the food is prepared fresh daily, steaks are hand cut daily and the tables are not as close so you don't hear the whole conversation of the table next to you. It has a nice atmosphere to the restaurant. My last 2 visits to Le Cellier have been less than favorable, very rushed and the food was very hit or miss.

Have a great time whichever you decide.

I personally would go with YS. I really enjoyed the porterhouse there. Couldn't finish it all but was very flavorful and well cooked. I didn't get all they hype for Le Cellier when we went last summer. Maybe it was an off night, but it was just a typical steakhouse to me. If you are on the dining plan, remember that YS is 2 credits while Le Cellier is only one.

Of the two choices, Yachtsman will be a better restaurant (and much more expensive). For steak, I would choose the Yachtsman over Le Cellier, easily.

Our last couple of trips we've been to both and I prefer the Yachtsman Steakhouse over LeCellier. It's a bit more expensive but the food and service is much better.

Are you on a dining plan? Because if you were that would me Le Cellier with 1 credit or Yachtsman with 2 credits. Under those circumstances, I would go with Le Cellier. If you are paying out of pocket, I would go for the better place which is Yachtsman. Have fun!

We haven't been to either one yet, so I have ADRs for both when we go in December .

100% Yachtsmans! We had a fantastic meal there whereas Le Cellier was just ok and we have no desire to return.

I agree, Yachtsmen. We went two weeks ago on the DDP, actually I was glad to burn the credits since that gave us a day when we didn't have an ADR to figure into our schedule. And it was so worth it. Le Cellier is fine, but I don't get the hype. I have had equally good steaks at Coral Reef, San Angel, Tony's, Olivia's and Turf Club to name a few one ts places. I don't think the atmosphere is much at all. I am not saying its not a nice place, but I don't think their steaks are above par in the slightest. Yachtsmen's filet, porterhouse and NY strip (we had all three and we each sampled each other's) were some of the best I have had. It also has a nice atmosphere and incredible desserts. Our server Thomas was the best I have had in all of our trips to WDW. We will defiitely go back, on or off the DDP.

I vote for Yachtsman Steakhouse. There's really no contest between the two in my opinion. Le Cellier has way too much hype for mediocre food. Yachtsman is special!

Just got back - tried Yachtsman for the first time.
Frankie was our server and was very good - a professional for sure.

tomato salad app and scallop app - both excellent!
3 ribeyes - 1 MR for me, 1 M for DS, and 1 M for DS5 and DS3 to share.
sides of carrots and mushrooms
1 glass of wine per adult - recommended pairing for the ribeye.

steaks a bit fatty (it's not marbling at that level) but very very tasty.
no dessert b/c too full.

DDE total after discount and with tip (+extra as DDE is "just" 18%) was $200.

Ribeyes tend to be a bit fatty anyway, so that isn't too surprising. $200 isn't outrageous given what most steakhouses charge. Glad to hear it was a pretty solid if not specatular experience. I would definitely vote Yachtsman's. We aren't doing it this upcoming trip (July) but it is going to be our featured meal of choice when we go to Mousefest in December.

No contest, Yachtsman is far superior, plus the price difference is minimal between the two.

We were there in May, ate once at YSH and twice at Le Cellier. We ate filet each time. My vote handsdown - Le Cellier. Not because of the price but because none of us really enjoyed our meal at YSH. It's a really nice restaurant, just was disappointing after all I'd read. We really enjoyed Le Cellier and were able to still get the filet with cream cheesy potatoes instead of mushrooms & risotto. However, the best filet (and meal) we had on the trip was Narcoossee's. And the surf & turf (with scallops instead of lobster) was amazing.

I'm sure wherever you go, you'll have a lovely meal.

We have had some terrific experiences at the YS. For our family, it's probably the premiere steakhouse at WDW.

We went with Yachtsman because I know that w/Le Cellier being a single table credit on the dining plan that its wildly popular and difficult to get into. We are paying OOP and didn't want the hassle. Also, I have to think the quality must be lower at LC, or they couldn't only charge 1 credit rather than the 2 for signature dining & I want the "perfect" steak. Also, we wanted something out of the park for a dinner while we are there, and this fit the bill.
