Yachtmans closed for refurb beginning in August?!

I just called the dining line to make ressies, and they told me Yachtmans is closing for refurb starting August 21...SAD Is this new information, or have I just missed it?

Wow, I had read it would be closing August 27th and I have a reservation or the 25th! Guess I had better call!

I checked online reservations and there was ADR availability at YSH thru August 25th. Nothing available on the 26th so it appears that is the day it will be closing. I did send an email to Guest Services to try to confirm. DS will be disappointed if we don't get to eat there. The 25th is our first day so it is the only chance we can go.

We are due to arrive on the 27th and we are not happy that it is closing, I understand that the need to refurb or whatever it is they are doing....but common, during MY vacation . Just kidding, but we are still a little upset about it, we love Yachtsman's Steakhouse and missed eating there on our last trip.

Does anybody know when it's scheduled to reopen? It's a shame that refurbs of restaurants don't get posted on WDW website (it would help with planning ADR's!) I am going in October and would love to try this restaurant....

The castmember on the phone did not give a date that it would re-open, just closing. I'm so upset about it, I was looking forward to trying it!! Oh, well, just another excuse to go back soon

Interesting .... I made my ADRs two days ago and the CM was able to get me an ADR for the 23rd no problem!

Looks like we will be in the World at the same time! We arrive on the 23rd for a couple of "room only" days and then check in for our package on the
25th for 8 more!

I haven't heard from Guest Services but reservations can still be made online thru the 25th. I am hoping nothing changes!

How fun that we'll be there the same time! We will leave on the 24th for a back to back cruise, but will return on Sept 2nd for the second part of our WDW vacation! Will you still be there then?

I really hope that they keep it open until the 25th! We had such a wonderful meal there last summer!

We did, too. It was our favorite. We leave the morning on the 3rd so we may not actually be there at the same time as you will be at sea!

This is so disappointing. I am getting ready to book my ADRs for my October trip, and I wanted to eat at YSH on October 1. I had a reservation in December I had to cancel due to a family situation, and I so wanted to try it this fall. I guess it's back to the drawing board to find another restaurant to take its place.
