Following on from my previous post, which resort do you think is better and why?

My wife and I :
Love Epcot
Are in our early 30's
Love good food
Enjoy swimming
Like having the odd drink

Thanks again!

There is no real difference as they are sister resorts so share facilities however the decor is different and some of the beach club rooms do not have full balconies.

In my opinion you can't go wrong with either. We've stayed in the Beach Club on several occasions and love everything about it. Their position particularly is perfect. A short walk into Epcot, quick boat trip to Studios and the Boardwalk (Bakery and restaurants) right on your doorstep plus the beach itself which we love to take advantage of - a good book, a drink, and watching the "World" go by - the perfect way to relax. What more can you wish for? How about one of the best restaurants on property, The Yachtsman's Steakhouse! Just wish I was there now.:thumbsup2

as already noted, they're basically identical except for theming and they share the wonderful stormalong bay pool area.

however, all yacht club rooms have balconies, which isn't true of the beach club. You might get a room without a balcony at the beach club.

That's reason enough for me to prefer the yacht club, however i also happen to like the theming of the yacht club much better.

it's as it's named - like a yacht club. absolutely beautiful in my opinion.

but theming aside, the balcony issue makes it a no brainer.
go with the yacht club.

For all the information you could wish for on BC/YC go to the BC/YC thread on the Resorts board. The first page has a wealth of information.

I much prefer the theming and decor of the YC. It's sophisticated and clubby compared with the BC's 'Floridian' pastel scheme. For me, the BC seems more family-oriented, whereas the YC has a more adult vibe (although it really is just an atmospheric distinction - you'll see an equal number of kids at both). The BC is closer to Epcot, but it's not exactly a long walk from the YC!

since you go out the main door in the back, the YC is maybe two steps further... :goodvibes

i see we have similar tastes!!

i actually don't like the BC - isn't that weird? i don't dislike it enough to not stay there - we have stayed there (when we couldn't get a room at the YC), but i just don't like it.
so odd, considering it's just decor.

Yes, I guess because I stay at the BCV rather than the BC itself, I tend to think of it as closer than it is. I don't like it, either, but have stayed there several times when it's suited us. If the YC were a DVC resort, though, I'd choose that.

Hi,

From what you have said of your tastes, I would definitely say YC. BC is beautiful, but in a Golden Girls/Floridian kind of way, and definitely more family/child themed. I personally would find that sickly after a while, but I enjoy popping in to the resort to eat at Beaches 'n' Cream once during vacations.

Enjoy!

Well as you "like having the odd drink", I would choose the Yacht Club as there is a fab bar next to the Yachtsman's Steakhouse and the decor I think better for couples.
Not forgetting the ESPN bar at the Boardwalk, and the brilliant Cabana Pool Bar at the Dolphin.
I wonder why I like staying at the Boardwalk resort area? ;)

oh and by the way there is apparently a theme park nearby too.
