My friend and her dh are taking their 4 children to Disney over Easter break next year :scared1: . She wants to stay at either the Beach club or Yacht Club and I haven't stayed at either. Personally, I suggested Boardwalk because I just find it so nice, but she wants what she wants. :)

Her kids are 12, 11, 9 and 3. Any ideas on which resort they would like better? At a glance Beach Club looks more child friendly to me.

Maximum occupancy at both is 5. I think you can squeeze one more in if it's a child in a crib under 2. They may have to look into at villa or the Ft. Wilderness cabins. I'm not sure about Family suites at All Stars. Their other option is two connecting rooms anywhere.

We are a family of four and we prefer YC, the decor and relative solitude appeal to us. BC is very busy, lots of noise from Cape May makes their lobby a zoo sometimes. I guess it's a matter of choice as far as decor. Another plus at YC is full balconies or patios.

Ooohhh I didn't even think about that. She asked me because she thought I was a pro. Thank you, she'll probably have to book a DVC and it's probably slim picking now at such a peak time.

Depending on when their Easter break is that can also be peak season. I've never done it but what about buying points from a DVC member? The least expensive option during that time would probably be conneceting rooms at a value, which my girlfriend did a few years back mainly because she was expecting and also had two teenage boys. She and DH had a king room at Pop, boys had connecting with two fulls giving two bathrooms. They did the same at Caribbean Beach. I know we are booked at YC Jan 2-6 and my AAA rate for standard is $276 a night. I can't imagine doubling that and that 's during value! I looked into availability during our spring break here in GA and the pickings are mighty slim :(

I prefer the BC - I think it's more family friendly. The YC has always struck me as more snooty, like the Four Seasons. Not that it's bad, but just not as casual. Like I would feel ok with DD running and shouting in the BC lobby (briefly of course), but not the YC.

Both are beautiful though. And you get SAB either way. And I agree about renting points for the BCV. Their 2-beds are great looking!

I am going with a 6y/o and decided on the BC, we had a look around them both in September and while I thought the YC looked the best in terms of decor I felt the BC was more warm and welcoming, it seemed more fun for my DD. The character breakfast on site will be a real bonus for us and having some quick service meal option at Market Place(though only small). it is nearer to epcot too. I don't mind if we have a balcony or not, it is not an issue for us however if it was I would book YC.

We choose BC - for the decor, the look, and the location... it just looks so much fun... :) we cant wait...

BC would be better with kids. The atmosphere is less stuffy. Either place will allow them to use stormalong bay which is the best pool in all of Disney. With that many kids they may be more comfortable in the BC Villas.

I have to agree with f7prez, I think the Yatch Club is a little stuffy, it's nice but the Beach Club gets my vote for a family with children.

The resorts are attached so you can walk back and forth, they also share restaurants. We just came back from a 3 night stay at the YC and LOVED it. We are just 2 adults so it was nice and quiet for us. When we would walk over to the BC it was complete chaos, the lobby was slammed with families..Stitch was in the lobby a few times playing with the kids. THe pool area was so busy and it looked like everyone was having a great time.

I say with kids go for the BC....

They are the same hotel. A single wall seperates the 2 hotels. You have to walk outside under a covered walk way for 10 feet to move between the two.

They share the same pools.

beyond subtle themes...they are identcle.

They are not the same hotel - they are two different resorts that are built next to each other. The theming of the resorts, from the lobby to the room decor, is very different. The rooms are even different in the sense that virtually all YC rooms have full balconies, while very few BC rooms do.

That being said, children are more than welcome at either resort (it is WDW, after all). YC may be more "stuffy", but I, for one, prefer that with my kids the loud, boisterous atmosphere that can sometimes be found in the YC lobby.

In the end, though, you can't go wrong with either resort.

Based on my experience, the Beach Club would be a better choice. Although I've not stayed at either one, I was talking to a woman with several young children as we were on the bus one night. She was staying at the Yacht Club and saying how she was really disappointed with how the "vibe" wasn't young children-friendly.

They may be techinically 2 seperate hotels on the books...but from a user experience..they are the same.

I have stayed in both sides...they are carbon copies sans theme.

I have also stayed at both places and I disagree, but I see no point debating it here.
