We are going to Disney at the end of April and are thinking about either staying at the Yacht or Beach Club. We have stayed at all the Values and WL but we are looking for something different this time. We usually go when it is too cold for us to swim (we are from the South and don't like to swim in anything colder than 85) but this time we want to spend alot of time at the pool. We have heard great things about SAB. The Yacht and Beach Club both get to use this pool if I am correct? We have never step foot in either of these hotels so I am hoping all of you can help. Our kids are 4 and 18 months, will they like this pool?
Which hotel would you recommend? Yacht or Beach?
Thank you

I think the kids would love the pool. Smaller kids remember more about the pools they play in than the parks!
Both the Yacht and Beach Club are nice but they have a bit of a different feeling. The Yacht Club has a more...formal and , for lack of better descritption) somewhat masculine feel. I really feels like you have walked into an exclusive club. The Beach Club has a more airy and casual feeling.
The Yacht Club has more wood and nautral colors in the lobby with and whites and blues in the rooms. The Beach Club has pastels and whites in the lobby and more pastels in the rooms.

I stayed at the Beach Club with a friend in May 03, so here's my two cents...

The Epcot resort hotels are arranged in a circle around a lagoon. If you stay at the Beach Club, you'll be a little bit closer to the World Showcase entrance at Epcot. That might make a difference with tired kids and strollers.

Both hotels use the pool -- if you're 4 year old is a swimmer, he'll probably enjoy it. The slide is probably a bit much, but there are some smaller areas with little pools and bridges that would be enjoyable with a little one. As far as the theme goes, the Beach Club seems a bit brighter and more relaxed. I love the look of the Yacht Club, but I imagine kids like the beach side. Make sure you go to Beaches and Cream for ice cream one day, and wander over to the Boardwalk (which is also a bit closer to the Beach Club) for some fun.

I loved having the walk to Epcot and the boat to MGM -- though transportation always seemed backwards to me as I practically grew up at Fort Wilderness.

Have a nice trip!
