Yacht Club vs Boardwalk

We are doing a split stay between GF and one of the Epcot resorts in January. I’m taking the pool out of the equation bc it’s January and I doubt we will have time to use it. The day we will be staying at the Epcot resort will be our DHS day. We plan on walking to DHS.
I kind of like the room style better at Yacht Club but the shorter walk from Boardwalk to DHS is appealing. We have not stayed at either. (Stayed at BC and I’m trying to try all resorts eventually so that’s out)

Of the BC/YC hotels I prefer YC as it's a bit quieter than it's sister (distance from pool?) and frequently costs a little less.
Still my favorite of the three is BWI. Yes, it's closest to the two nearby parks but it also good that buses there tend to be first stop coming and going to some locales (maybe Disney Springs). Closest to one of my favorite resort restaurants, FF, and Boardwalk Bakery for sandwiches. In fact, I think most of the outdoor seating restaurants are on the BWI side.

You essentially answered your own question, I think. LOL!
As you have already strayed at the BC, I would opt for the BWI. The YC/BC are v very similar as they are sister resorts, so the BW will give a somewhat more unique experience. Also, you said that you would like to walk to DHS, which is slightly shorter, I think, from the BW than the YC. The room style is lovely at both resorts and you will get to try the YC on a future visit. The pool at the YC is better enjoyed at a warmer time of year than January.

The GF/BWI split is the one we opted for when we celebrated our 45th anniversary in WDW. It was wonderful!!!! I hope that you enjoy it as much as we did.

Have fun choosing!!

You could go with the resort that costs less, since the difference in the walk to DHS is minimal, especially if you get a room at BWI which is located close to the Epcot end of the resort.

You really can't go wrong with either one as they are both great, but I agree with the pp's that since you've stayed at BC, I'd give BWI a try. Good luck choosing. Have a great trip :wizard:.

We did a split last year with Boardwalk/Poly and didn't care for Boardwalk at all. The overall style, long hallways, set-up. Even when we booked it online we had hesitancy but figured we were going to be in the parks for most of the day so it wouldn't really effect us, but it was little things and sadly we couldn't wait to check out and go to the Poly. We're doing a split this year with YC/Poly and hopefully have a different feeling about it. With that said, its all in personal taste and what appeals to you.

You can't go wrong with either one and if, 1) the pool is out of the equation, 2) you want to try all resorts and, 3) you want to walk to DHS - BWI is the winner for me! However, if there is a significant price difference and YC is cheaper, I would probably put in the extra steps and stay there! They are both gorgeous!
