We have paid for a standard view at Yacht Club for our end of January stay. I believe it is called garden or woods view specifically. What requests should I make on MDE? The options are ground floor, upper floor, lower floor, water view. I am not familiar with YC at all. I do not want a parking lot view if that could be avoided. Any tips? Also, when calling in room requests, what should I ask for? What is the number and best time prior to check in to call with requests? Thanks in advance!

Edited to add - I understand Room requests are just that - requests. I am so thrilled with the AP rate I received, I would be fine with a not so great view. But if I can up my chances of a better view, I would like to try.

Standard view and Garden/Woods view are two different categories.
Thanks. Can you tell I’ve never stayed here? Lol do you know the difference? Am I likely to get a parking lot view with a garden/woods view? Will I get a balcony or should I request that?

Standard view will typically be parking lot/rooftop. Although we got a view of a huge tree that blocked the parking lot when we had a standard view. The garden/woods views would be much better. I would check out the room view finder on Touring Plans (not always completely accurate but they'll give you a good idea). Also there is a YC/BC room view thread. Almost all of the rooms at YC have a full balcony so there's really no need to request that.

Thank you! Great news.

Also, you just need to call the main reservations line, I believe at least 5 days prior to your stay. I typically just call in my requests and then either don't do online check in, or just leave those blank.

If you are really unhappy with your view, it never hurts to ask nicely for something else. They are usually very accommodating if they're not full.
