We only ate breakfast there, it was very good food. There was a convention at the YC and many of the folks eating were business people, although there were a few other families. The atmosphere is ok, nothing special. Pastel colors, wood tables.
Despite staying at the YC 10 times over the last 10 years, I had never eaten at the YC Galley until our trip 2 weeks ago. I ws very pleasantly surprised. Had dinner there and ordered a roast chicken, with vegtables and cheddar mashed potatos. It was delicious! Service was very good and (it being WDW) there were very attentive to my children (ages 12 and 6). Definitely a place I will go back to.
We ate there on our trip in August. We took our 2 and 3 year olds, and it was fine. It's got casual East Coast type decor. We had ADRs for 5:30 and it was almost empty.
It had a very good kid's menu - my kids shared the cheeseburger meal. I had a mushroom cheeseburger and DH had a Seafood pasta with mussels. He liked it, but said it was a bit too fishy. My cheeseburger was great.
We went here in the beginning of December. I had been there in the past for breakfast which was good and a dinner which was fine but no big deal. We wanted a place that I figured wouldn't be crowded (which it wasn't) and a place that was inexpensive (which it also wasn't) but it was one of th ebest meals of our 10 day trip!!! Service was great and the food was wonderfull even if it was double what we had planned to pay for the evening! great desserts too.
We have eaten there, but will be in no rush to go back. The food was good, but it is rather like a restaurant you would find in any lobby of any hotel in America. With all the wonderful choices within walking distance, we have seen no reason to return.
