Yacht Club Galley or Cape May?

We have an ADR for Cape May in December, but some friends just came back and suggested we should try YCG instead. Haven't ever heard much about it on the DIS, though, so want more input... How is YCG: food, service, etc.?

Which is better: Cape May or YCG?

Just FYI: Our plan is to head over from MGM that day to explore the Boardwalk and BC/YC holiday decorations and an early dinner before going back for EMH/Osborne Lights,etc.

If you are going for the character breakfast at Cape May, do it. Otherwise, I would favor the Galley. I had one of my worst experiences at the Clambake buffet at CM but I have had nothing but good meals at the Galley. It is a family-style restaurant that I thoroughly enjoyed. If going for breakfast, try the Mickey pancakes. Check out the menus in this forum or at allears.

Cape May for either breakfast or dinner, it ROCKS!

I have been to Cape May for breakfast and dinner and both were good - we thought dinner was good - we always stay at the BC, not sure that dinner was good enough for the price to keep us coming back each time (not that it was not good, just other things we like better). The breakfast was good and fun of course wih the characters.

For breakfast we actually prefer the YC Galley - they too offer a buffet and it is obviously quieter and less expensive but offer similar foods, but I LOVED their potaotes. YUM! The service was great both times we have eaten there, but it was only for breakfast. We also REALLY enjoy the Yachtsman!

Well as others have said if you are going Character meal than yes go to the clambake.. but if you want a nice no fuss restaurant decor and great food than go to the YCG.. My family had a great supper meal there
