I have read very little about the Yacht Club Galley on these boards, good or bad. We recently had lunch there, and it was very good. However, there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Why is this dining room being ignored? Any thoughts? :scratchin

Someone else might have more information, but we have always loved the Yacht Club Galley. For years, we ate there for dinner and sometimes breakfast because they always had good simple food and they were rarely crowded. When we went Nov 2001, they weren't pirate: open for dinner, I guess Sept 11 had slowed down travel. Our last trip for Christmas 2003 I really wanted to have Christmas dinner there, but 1 month out at least, they said they would be closed.
I've just been seeing recently postings about YCG again. I hope it will be open for dinner next June as we will be staying at BCV and hope to eat there again. pirate:

Happy Holidays!

It has since reopened for dinner. It's nothing outstanding, but it's a quiet, reliable spot far less crowded than the Cape May Cafe buffet, with great service. I consider it the Grand Floridian Cafe of the EPCOT resorts.

I think the Yacht Club Galley is the NEW best kept secret in resort dining, now that Beaches & Cream's secret is now out. All of their meals, breakfast, lunch & dinner, are so good, and you're right, it's not that crowded! But the service from the CMs there are great & attentive, and the food selection covers a great variety of American tastes. I have not been disappointed! :D

We had not planned to go here when we stayed at the YC in Nov but ended up eating a late lunch and then were hungry around 8pm. Since we were staying there we said we would just go there.
This was the surprise of the trip. I got the YC sandwich . It came with the best and most unique potatoe salad I have ever had. I could no way finish this meal. Huge!!! And believe me I was hungry.
My husband got the open face Steak Sandwhich. Presentation on this was excellent! He loved it. ( and believe me he is picky)
We also got the dessert sampler -that was very good.
Our Server was good and everyone was friendly and helpful.
It was not only not crowded .... it was empty except for one other party and a large party that came in right before we were leaving.
We plan to try the breakfast buffet when we go in April. I also want to get that sandwhich again.... YUMMY! :Pinkbounc
