We just returned Sat. for WDW. I am thinking of booking Yacht club concierge for next August. Can you tell me what you think of Yatch club con. How are the rooms & concierge lounge? Thanks!

We were there in May and loved it. The rooms were large (but not as big as the Poly) and very nicely decorated. The Concierge lounge was great with a wonderufl selection of food and drinks. The service was great too. The staff really tried to help us. I would say it is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. You will love it. Jay

Well....

It's about my least favorite. I just didn't get the warm fuzzies from it. The staff was cool, the lounge felt like a fast food restaurant as opposed to a comfortable sanctuary to mingle and relax. I had a couple other issues which I felt weren't handled well...power went out and staff was very curt in their replies when we inquired about it, there was ahuge roach in our room, etc.

Frankly I'm not sure I'd go back.

We did very much enjoy the Beach Club although the "lounge" is the same issue as the YC in design, and the BWI which is absolutely lovely in all respects.

i am repeat guest of YC concierge, have stayed there about 7 times.
I love it, the staff is the best, has always been very friendly and helpful. i have never seen any roaches, I am sure it was a fluke thing, and could happen anywhere.

having the staff and lounge available to you all day is more than convenient :)

They are not roaches, they are palmetto bugs and you better get use to them. There are zillions in Florida.

This was a R-O-A-C-H. It was NOT a palmetto bug. I do know the difference.

That wasn't my biggest complaint though--we just felt the CM's were grumpy and not at all helpful.

We had an amazing experience with the YC concierge.

We loved the lounge. Did not feel like fast food (breakfast perhaps, but we loved that we got coffee on the go!). In the afternoon and evening, we enjoyed hummus, cheeses, crudite, etc. with wine. In the evening - Bailey's or Kaluha with cheesecakes! It was lovely! When we were there, there was hardly anyone in the lounge, so we enjoyed some privacy and quiet, and everyone who was ever in there was on their best mannors.

The CM were great too. Assisting with changes in reservations, etc. One is particular - Sammy - was great. We had seen La Nouba our second to last night. On our last night we were in the lounge, and they were playing the soundtrack. We were thinking to ourselves that we wished we would have gotten the soundtrack. We asked Sammy if there was anywhere we could buy it in the area, as we did not have time to go back to DTD. He said no, but would see what he could do. We left then for dinner. When we returned an hour and a half later - a brand new cd from La Nouba was sitting in our room! Incredible!!

DH and I both got the warm fuzzies there!! And we're looking forward to returning!!

We loved our Yacht Club concierge stay.:sunny: We had terrific cm interaction, too. :D We were fine with the lounge the way it was since we used it to have breakfast and a snack. We were busy so we didn't "lounge" in the lounge. I would definetly stay there again.

This time we are trying BWI concierge. I have heard wonderful things about it, too.:sunny:

We did enjoy our YC concierge stay and our rooms. I didnt like that they closed the lounge in between offerings. At the Poly you could run up to the lounge any time and get a soda and cookies or some water.
The cm we remember most was DJ. He was so nice and funny. We had a great time speaking with him (YC).

We loved the Yacht Club Conceirge. The staff was helpful with reservations and accomodating the children in our party. They made sure we had milk for bottles, snacks. We loved it so much we booked the Poly last year, we found the YC more helpful with reservations, and little extras.

Breakfast: Great, nice selection, helpful with trays (importants when you are dragging children around with you)

Lounge: Was great, my sister and I found it a nice escape from the kids too.

Evening Snacks: Are Great!! One night we decided to cancel dinner because the snacks were so yummy and then headed to Beaches and Cream for one of their delicious sundaes.

But the big plus was the snacks after a day in the park, they just seemed to have a better choice and more out then the Poly.

I would recommend the Yacht Club Conceirge to anyone and can not wait to go back:D

We LOVE Yacht concierge!!! The staff was GREAT!!! The lounge was so wonderful! I wish we could stay again soon!!!We didnt find any bugs in our room Which Im glad I would not like it either. But being a Floridian, you get use to the little buggers~~~ (not that we have a house full but every now and then you get one in the house and we are extremely clean people.):sunny:

That's my point. They close the lounge so you can't get anything, not even water or coffee, or have a place to sit except your room. Also it would be nice to have comfortable chairs and a safo as opposed to tables and chairs which is more like a restaurant than a "lounge" IMHO.

We loved the Yacht Club concierge - the staff was incredible! Especially Betty-- we always stopped to talk on our way out to the parks or back from a long day. So sweet-- She even knew that I loved the oatmeal/raisan cookies and one night - left a big dish of them in my room with a note- saying she wanted to make sure I had my "treat" at the end of the long day...

We loved the snacks and lounge offerings. Although, we never used the lounge as a replacement for meals, we did stop by in the am for a quick breakfast, when we wanted to get at early start to our day -- and not spend time at a sit-down restaraunt.

We love staying concierge for the extra service and the Yacht Club provided it and more. We have also stayed Beach Club Concierge and found the lounge offerings and service to be the same. Loved them both!

Remember that everyone's experience is different b/c we all have certain expectations -- ENJOY YOUR VACATION whatever resort you choose- you'll love it!!

We just returned from a Yacht Club concierge stay a few weeks ago. I liked it but I did not love it. I have to agree with Anne about the inconvenience of the lounge shutting down. Some of the CM's were great but there was one male CM who was a total sourpuss. The desserts were disappointing to say the least. In fact, someone recently started a thread about that very topic. Overall, I would say that it was a good experience but I would try a different resort for the future.

I stayed at YC concierge in December 2002, and I had a fabulous time. The resort was very luxurious, the lounge was spacious and upscale, and the CMs we encountered were wonderfully friendly. Here are pictures of the YC if you're interested (they are much darker online than in real life):

This is all interesting - and what makes Disney resorts so great - that there is something for everyone. The YC concierge is def not a place to lounge around all day, and it does seem upscale. It's nice that Disney does their lounges differently at different resorts - so that there is something for everyone!!
