Were getting married at the Yacht club and are planning on spending our wedding night and the next night somewhere on the boardwalk (the 5 nights before will be at the Dolphin with our family because its cheap!:rotfl:).

I love the new Boardwalk Inn rooms (but not the Boardwalk villas), but as were getting married at the Yacht Club DF feels likes like we should stay there plus I have read its quite quiet?

I know when we visited some of the other deluxe resorts such as the Contemporary and Animal Kingdom the noise in the lobby from people visiting to use the restaurants put us off as they didnt seem so relaxing?:confused3

Which would you pick and why?

I would choose the Boardwalk as it seems that bit more romantic and quiet. We had a look at a room in August and thought it was very nice. There is also a lot going on around the Boardwalk in the evenings.:thumbsup2

I prefer the BWI to the YC (I've stayed at both) - the BWI is quieter (only about 350 rooms),the new rooms at the BWI are gorgeous. Because it is so small, once you in the hotel, away from the Boardwalk itself it is a peace of haven and tranquility. I've had Boardwalk and standard view rooms and enjoyed both, surprisingly the Boardwalk view room really wasn't very noisy, the standard view room I had was over the courtyard garden with a great view of Illuminations from the balcony.

Yacht Club!!!
It definitely feels a lot more upmarket than the Boardwalk Inn or Beach Club.
The Beach Club and Boardwalk are full of kids & hubbub, and it's great that it's all just a little walk away but boy is it nice to return to the Yacht Club for some peace and quiet! The steakhouse and adjacent bar are gorgeous. You get to use the stormalong bay pool, and if that's too busy for you, the quiet pool at the yacht club is bliss. Also, and quite important for me, is that ALL the rooms at the Yacht club have full balconies. At the beach club, some have full balconies, some have just tiny ones that only one person can stand on, some have french balconies that are useless. It's all just pot luck.

I agree with Phil, the YC seems much better suited to a wedding night than the others. I think the fact you're also getting married there ties in quite nicely. :goodvibes

I think I'd choose BWI, as we really love the lobby and interior there.

Don't let the lobby of AKL put you off though. We were literally as close to the lobby as you can be, (well there were two rooms that were closer) and we never ever heard any noise from our room. Although if we opened the baclony door we could hear the african music they play out on to Arusha Rock. :goodvibes

We were tempted to spend some nights at BW/BC/YC on our wedding trip, but we're choosing to go back to AKL! :rotfl:

I think both BWI and YC look lovely, YC seems more sophistacted though. BC looks great too however I think it is better for famillies with children rather than a romantic wedding/honeymoon.

Just wanted to add, since the BWI rooms have been refurbished they really are stunning, as to the YC being more upmarket, since the refurb I would say that the BWI is more 'upmarket', but that's just my opinion ;)

However, I also stayed at the BWI with the older style rooms and agree that re. the old style YC had the edge.

Can't say as I've ever noticed lots of children at the BWI, have at the villas, but not at the BWI, once you're through the lobby, it's a so peaceful :) - noticed more when I stayed at the YC.

Visiting the hotels for meals etc, I tend to find that they are too busy with visitors looking for resturants.

The lobbys always seem chaotic and not like normal hotels.

If I was in my room I would like to be able to go downstairs and get a coffee without having to fight through crowds. Unless I am mistaken?

An example was we went to Mickeys Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness and the lobby, whilst stunning seemed like a airport terminal, there were that many people around.

To be honest, and I can only talk for AKL, you just don't notice. I always felt that most poeple in the lobby and marketplace were other AKL guests. And when I wanted to get a coffee/soda then you go to the Mara, which non resort guests don't know about so that's never hectic.

Obviously the area down near Boma gets busy at dinner time, but you only need to go there to get to Boma, so you can avoid it if it bothers you.

Out of the 3 Epcot resort hotels the only one where I've noticed it is quite busy is the BC, due to the Cape May Clam Bake being located off the lobby. BWI is lovely and quiet (the restaurants are down on the boardwalk itself), so is the YC :)

I'd have to say that Yacht Club, I think it has a great laid back appeal and I had a great time when I went there last year. Had a great meal at the Yachtsman (Still I think my most enjoyable meal in Florida) but before I chilled out at the bar just off the lobby and indulged in some champagne mojito's, and as everyone else seemed to be making a beeline for anywhere but the bar, the bartender pretty much used up a full bottle of champagne in the two mojito's he served me!

To be honest, I don't think you would regret picking any of them, but the Yacht Club is definitely my favourite!

Thanks for all the posts everyone, I think were going to go with the yacht club it makes more sense since were planning to eat at the yacht and beach club, ad we both really want to try out the pool there it looks amazing!

I think we shall keep the boardwalk inn for another trip (like all the other deluxes!) ;-)

With the location of the Yacht/Beach club Gemma you can enjoy a lot of what the Boardwalk has to offer also without actually staying there.

Any resort in that area is well located. The beach/pool area around the Dolphin for example is the best I think of all the hotels close to EPCOT.

I know johny that's what I love about the boardwalk area it's so easy to get around :-) were planing three table service meals in the yacht and beach club so it makes more sense, and I do love the pool area etc. Just seen photos of the refurbished rooms - now totally convinced they look lovely!

We've stayed in all 3 and i love all of them - its the location for me.
We also got married at the YC and as a result stayed there for our wedding trip. We mentioned we were getting married there and they gave us a room with a lovely view of the Yacht Club gazebo, it was really nice to be able to sit out and look at where we got married. I also found that as we got married at their hotel the staff were extra attentive, they did lots of little things that made our stay more romantic. Lots of towel origami swans, and hearts etc. Petals scattered over the bed, we had several nice messages left by the hotel, and our maid wishing us a happy honeymoon and a phone message from Mickey and Minnie. One night we also came back to champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries in the room.

I wouldnt assume that you would get any of these things but as your getting married there you may find a little extra pixie dust for your stay!

Awww you were very lucky! We were hoping to get a room overlooking the gazebo (was going to request this before we go) - fortunetly they are garden view rooms so we dont need to pay for an extra view!
