Best water view ever! :sad2:

:rotfl2::lmao:

That's the same view I hated seeing on the YC/CL floor when I would sneak a peek out the heavily frosted windows in the hallway. I guess after a hard rain, water would collect on the roof and voila! There's one mighty fine water view for you.

BTW, did you actually pay for a water view and instead got the pool/tree/roof view? :scared1:

I've gone through about half this thread today just having the most wonderful time looking at all of your pictures!! :cheer2: We're looking forward to staying at the YC for our trip in 2013. We went to the GF last year, so we're going to try an Epcot resort this time.

All of your pictures have been SUCH a treat for someone that really knows nothing about the BC and YC !! Please keep them coming !! Because we can't wait till 2013 !!!!!!

Yes, we payed for a water view room. Because this room didn't suit our needs at all (it had a king bed which is slightly awkward for mother and son, it was very far from the elevators which is a pain for my mother who can barely walk, etc), we asked to be moved. They couldn't move us until the next day because the resort was at capacity. We were hoping to be moved to a room closer to the elevators and with a lake view.

We got the lake view, but there were construction workers on our side of the building. There were cranes and piles of dirt blocking our view of the lake, and there were construction workers painting the building exterior...which they had to do on our balcony. The noise from 9-5 was absolutely terrible, and my mother is usually in the room during the day because of her medical condition. So she couldn't even get rest. Plus, in order to have some privacy from our balcony-goers, we basically had to keep the curtains closed, keeping the room pitch black at all times and meaning we barely got to see our water view. Personally, I would have been much more forgiving about the whole thing if there had been any notication from the resort about the ongoing construction. The boat dock was closed, we couldn't even see our water view, the least they could have done was send an email in advance about the construction. They always do that when the pool is closed, as far as I know, and this should be no different. As a family that actually spends time in our room instead of racing across the parks all day, this was our most dissapointing trip since...our last trip to the Beach Club. We won't be back.

It's a shame, because there's so much I like about the place. The Boardwalk area, the pool, the marketplace, Hurricane Hanna's, the decor, and access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. But these repeated issues are something that nobody could predict until they actually happen.

And for the record, I've heard that any room at YC/BC that overlooks the smallest bit of water/pool is counted as a water view. In my opinion, lake view and pool view should be separate categories, considering the dramatic difference between overlooking the tranquil lake or the noisy, chaotic pool...and then there should be a discount for that abominable roof view.

I borrowed this from my Trip report I finally finished up. All taken in November.....

Tried something a little different with the lighthouse. This is where you catch the ferries to either Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

That's about all I got that night. When I get some free time I'll dig around and find some pictures from the beginning of our trip.

Those pictures are phenomenal!
Thank you so much for sharing them!
Looking at the first few, it looks like some of the villas have standing room only balconies - is that true?

Well thank you very much, you're way too kind! I really liked how a couple of them came out:thumbsup2 The Beach Club is definitely my most favorite place in the World

Yes, there are some balcony's like that but I think they are just studios and not actually Villas. We've only done the DVC rooms which are in a different building so I really can't be sure how that works. :confused3

Thanks for the answer.
I didn't realize there were different bldg's.
Your pics have made me even more excited for our upcoming trip. You are truly a very talented photographer!

for NateNLogansDad..... OMG, your pictures are AMAZING!!! :cutie: You're going to laugh, but I think you made me change my mind and want to go to the Beach Club now! (after finally deciding on the YC)

Really though, your pictures are beautiful and it looks like you had a wonderful vacation. We really know NOTHING at all about the BC/ YC. We stayed at GF last time and we want to try something new... I'm skiddish about the BC because I'm afraid we'll get one of the "standing only " balconies. I really loved sitting on the balcony at GF. So that's why we thought to do YC. But now...... I am more confused! :confused3

It seems on this thread that there's many more BC fans.... maybe I should just forget worrying about the balcony!! :goodvibes Decisions, decisions.
All I know is it's SO much fun looking at all your pictures ! it's helping very much!!!

You will love the YC! It has a different feel...we have stayed at both. I just find the YC more elegant, not at all stuffy, quieter because no Cape May, still very kid and family friendly. our 2 dgs ages 5 & 6 had a great time.
