Clementine Ford comes out

In the March issue of Diva, Clementine Ford officially came out.

She told the magazine: "I never want to put a label on myself — but knowing that not everyone comes from such a liberal place, when something like Prop 8 comes out, you realize it’s important to stand up and be counted. A little gay kid in a small town is more important than whether I want a label."



Since joining the cast of The L Word, Ford has had plenty of opportunities to meet those small town gay kids.

Last summer, while she was shooting a public service announcement for the Point Foundation (an organization that grants scholarships to LGBT students), Ford asked Curve reporter JD Disalvatore why the charming, intelligent Point Scholars she'd met that day had been kicked out of their homes.

The answer: "Some people don’t like their kids being gay."

She sent a letter to the Point Foundation after the shoot, offering to help any way she could — even if that meant licking envelopes.

When Diva first asked her about her sexuality, Ford said she wasn't technically out yet, explaining, "For me, there’s never been a distinction about anything to do with sexuality, so there was no declaration to be made. My siblings and I would bring home men and women, and as long as they were human it wasn’t a big thing."

I just saw this on the SC boards, and if it is true-WOW! I just hope we have some Nikki/Greg scenes! One of my earliest Y&R memories is Greg walking onto the stage when Nikki was stripping and covering her with his coat.

EW is reporting that David Hasselhoff will be reprising his role as Snapper Foster! Wings Hauser will also reprise his role as his brother Greg, and Julianna McCarthy will be back as Liz Foster Brooks. Scenes will air in mid-June.

Maybe Liz was mixed up and Jill really is her daughter, or maybe she is back to tell her who she really belongs to.

I saw David Hasselhoff hosting wrestling the other night (don't ask-dd10 is addicted) and all I could think about was how sexy he was as Snapper, and now he just looks like an old perv!

I've heard rumors of both - but I would think the show would have her keep the first quiet if it is true - it could damage her role as *vixen*.

I was 9 when he left, but still remember him as being hot! That tells you something about my childhood. There was nothing to do out in the country, and we only had 3 channels (my kids would die ). We would work in the garden or yard all morning, then come in and watch Y&R, usually while we shelled something (peas, butterbeans, etc.). You would think my grandfather, who wouldn't let us say the word "pregnant", would be a little more cautious about what we watched on tv!

I was never crazy about Wings Hauser as Greg or David Hasselhoff as Snapper. I much preferred the original Greg and Snapper. Greg was Jim (James) Houghton and Snapper was William Gray Espy. Those two even looked liked brothers.
