XXX Food Porn or Photographer’s view of DxDP-Updated 8/27

Beautiful pictures. We just came back and I can tell you nothing we ate looked that good! Did you stage any of the shots or just pic your best angle?

I didn't really do much as far as staging. I would occasionally turn the food to get the best side or to get everything in a straight line so that I would have the best use of my depth of field. I left the presentation up to the professional chefs who did a great job.

Thanks for the reviews! Can I ask- is the tomato sauce there really chunky with chunks of tomatoes and onions?? Looks like it is in your picture but I am not sure and want to check. Boyfriend does not like chunky sauce- he is picky!

If you are talking about Tony's then yes it was chunky. I too do not like chunky tomato sauce but love smooth sauce.

You must have had an off night for a press pot at Kona. It's happened to us once, we sent the pot back. The other 10 times, if we had let it sit for 8 minutes, we would have had military grade strong coffee.

Thank you for the review of Tony's. For some reason I just cannot bring myself to make a reservation there.

Thanks, if we ever get back there will give it another try.

I really wanted to consume and/or shot all of the cupcake offering @WDW after reading the article on the Disney Food Blog. Well trying to fit in cupcakes in between meals turned out to tougher than anticipated. We did manage to pick up the two offerings at Roaring Fork one afternoon.

Carrot Cake Cupcake

For each DW did her best to carve out a quarter so that you can see the inside. This one was delicious with excellent cream cheese frosting and a very moist cake.

The other offering at RF was the Smores Cupcake.

Toasted marshmallow top with a graham cracker tasting cake and bits of chocolate bar scattered through out the cake.

When we went to the Contemporary Resort when going to dinner at CG, DD16 and I took a peak at the cupcake offerings at the Contemporary Cafe. We saw the Caramel Dos Leches and the Black Forest but not the Pina Colada one. We had high hopes of picking them up on the way out but were to stuffed to think about getting more food. We never did make it back and will have to save those for a future trip.

As you remember me kidding the girls about cupcakes for breakfast at HS, well they needed a little something before we left the hotel. Therefore we made a mid-morning trip to Starring Rolls. Unfortunately it was threatening rain and I had to shot these outside with natural light so they did not come out as well as I would have liked.

First the Butterfinger Cupcake. I guess this was the least liked if you can say that with these. Creamy frosting coated with crushed butterfingers. Chocolate cake with a fudgy center.

Next up was the Red Velvet cupcake. A real winner with everyone in the family. Cream Cheese frosting and a really moist cake.

Last but by far not least was the Chocolate Peanut Butter cupcake. Scads of chocolate shavings on top, a wonderful moist chocolate cake and a chocolaty peanut butter center.

DD16 has completed two years of French and reluctantly tried it out on our server with my prodding. They both immediately fell for our server Julien.

We unfortunately did not have a great dining experience here. We had to try it once but will not be on our list for any future trip.

Your daughters are gorgeous - who wouldn't fall for a handsome French waiter!
Your photos are excellent.
I am sorry for the lackluster meal. I haven't been impressed with Chefs, and prefer lunch there to dinner. But Bistro de Paris - that is another story!

While the selection was not as extensive here as other food courts, we were very please with the morning offerings. ]

Glad you liked it! I only stayed at WL once and WLV once, I really liked Roaring Forks. It's a small, but great counter service option!

Thank you all!

DITTO!!!!

I will say it AGAIN....great food porn! You are officially the king! :worship:

(What lens did you use?)

I have all of the camera information in the first post but most of them were shot with a 24-70 f/2.8.

I am loving your reviews!

It seems like Chefs is better for lunch than for dinner if you're ever inspired to give it another shot. The menu is significantly different, more sidewalk cafe-like than at dinner, and for us that made all the difference. Their croque monseiur was one of the big surprises of the trip.

It is nice to see a positive review of Tony's. I have an ADR there for our next trip and I've waffled about it quite a bit, but it is the last TS in the MK that we haven't tried so I feel oddly compelled to give it a shot.

BRAVO!

If you can stand to read it again, let me just say that I enjoyed your photos and reviews immensely. Your daughters are very lovely, too. You and your wife are much blessed. :)

We are dining at both Chefs de France and Tony's in about two weeks so it was great to see your pictures. Also, your cupcake shots have my tummy rumbling! That S'mores one looks so good, it's a shame I'm not staying at Wilderness Lodge ;) I think I'll have to try the butterfinger one though, your shot makes it look really good!

Great reviews and excellent pictures! I literally drooled at the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet with Risotto pic. That is my most favorite meal at WDW. Thanks for sharing! Your girls are beautiful, and such adventurous eaters!

Thank you all again for the kind comments. They really mean a lot to me.

Thanks, lets see the French, Moroccan, and Italian waiters. :rotfl2:

It was a great little place for breakfast at least.

BRAVO!

Thank you so much.

I don't have as many from here as I would have liked. The couple of times we stopped by most of the display cases were fogged up and were not conducive to photos. One day they were passing out samples of chocolate-caramel rice crispy treats. The girls said they were good.

I think these all speak for themselves.

This is only one that I tried. It looks way better than the one that I got. The cake was dry but the frosting was good. I know that was probably an off day and I should try again.

The girls got a chocolate covered caramel square and was so good that I never got a shot of it.

Forgive me Lord for I have sinned! I have coveted another man's dinner and been gluttonous in my thoughts!

Those pics are OMG amazing! I haven't even seen them all yet and had to stop to thank you. Great job and thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2
