I might be alone in this, but I thought for a split second when they showed her from the back, walking onto the stage, that it might be a drag queen. That hair was ridiculous.

That hair is her trademark and don't let her appearance fool you. She is just as likely to sit down and have a beer with you as she is to be found on the stage of the Met.

Good morning! I couldn't post last night cause of the board maintenance...but..

LOVELY ceremony! Very intimate and beautiful. I was downright floored over the giant floor-screen when they made it look like whales were swimming across it. Amazing!

And I HATE the torch. It looks like the Fortress of Solitude. Blech.

Still can't believe that luger died. So sad. I felt so bad watching the Georgian team go in.

The girl who sang the Canadian national anthem was good.

One of the most memorable moments for me was the projections on the floor...loved the ice and then the whales. That was SO COOL.

I also enjoyed seeing all the teams' outfits when they march in. I really wanted one of the Team USA winter hats, with the moose on them. Then I had my sister look up the price... Guess that's what you pay for a designer hat! I still kind of want one though. LOL!

They have the RL Olympic collection at Macy's, will stop in today. Those touque's are cool.

I have a $2.00 Canadian dollar bill with Wayne Gretzky's autograph that I got in 1991. The right guy to light the outside sticks near the waterfront.

Even with the glitch, the night was special. Where was the French Canadian story? Glad to see Betty Fox carry the Olympic flag with Bobby Orr with Anne Murray.

Ms. Vonn gets another day off, now will race on Monday.

Ugh, downhill skiing is postponed today due to weather. Darn it. Much as I worry because Bode Miller's kind of a trainwreck, I still wanted to see him ski 'cause he's, well, hot.

Last night when the snafu happened, the look on Gretzky's face was hysterical. I told my DH, can you imagine the yelling going on off stage trying to get that stuff working? Then I realized, wait, they are Canadian. They aren't yelling, they are probably being all polite about it.

So, what do we have going on today? Anything good?

Ugh, I have to go to my DF's latter. I will probably miss stuff!!! I wanna stay home!!

I know some speed skating is today. The downhill skiing (as mentioned before) has been postponed, but only a day, I think. I don't know what all else is going on. The daytime stuff starts at 2 pm EST and the nighttime stuff is (I think, but could be wrong) at 7:30 or 8:30 pm EST or thereabouts.

I'm off to the gym now to get that and errands done before the daytime stuff starts!

Loved the opening ceremonies. The floor was awesome. It looked so real my dd kept saying how are they walking on water, or the girl was in her bare feet after it looked like ice.

I too wonder about the coultren, is it suppose to be a big campfire? They were big on the native theme last night.

Also glad that Wayne got driven to the outside one. It seemed like a long way to run. It seemed to take forever as it was.

Someone asked how long the torch lasts. Suppose to be 15 minutes but I don't think the rain helped last night. They did change torched in the back of the truck once and before he left the stadium.
