We have been thinking about a last minute trip to WDW for Xmas ......but have we left it too late to get a one bed DVC?!! Has anyone tried to book recently, what was your experience?
We would be happy to stay at BLT, BCV, BWV or OKW!
Usually book at 11 months to the hour, so not sure how easy it is to book so late!
Thanks

On the Msc. Board, someone mentioned OKW was still available for Christmas. I hope you get something!

hard to believe much would still be available at this point. december is a peak period for DVC bookings.

All you can do is call and try. You may get lucky or be able to piece some things together if you are willing to move around. Good luck!!

Not sure about Christmas, but, I just checked on Friday (8/5) for a 1 bdrm at SSR for NYE until 1/3 and MS told me they have quite a bit of availability at SSR for 1 bdrms only....other resorts nothing......

We tried booking Christmas week and had trouble finding availability at one resort for the entire week. So, we're staying 2 nights at AKL and 5 nights at BLT. We had to do a couple of wait list before we got something cohesive.

Good Luck!

Have you checked airfare lately? It doesn't surprise me that bookings are down over christmas. Plus, the way the holiday falls this year makes for shorter breaks for a lot of the schools.

I called MS today, called for BLT and BCV. I was able to get just two nights and the beginning of the trip and two nights at the end of the trip. My dates were for Dec 15-25. Better than I hoped, at least I have four nights lol. Called so late cause I was actually going to use my ap discount and save my points for next year and than decided against it
ETA, I was told by MS that BW was available from Dec 23-28 for a one bedroom, found that pretty suprising.

Just be aware from the start the volume of crowds that you are talking about that week. Seeing you are coming from England, plus park passes; you should seriously consider what experience you want/will get, for your [$].

We did it once.. and can we say we did it; but honestly, will never go that time of the year again. If the UK is still on holiday after New Year's, I would personally suggest trying for then.

It's your decision of course.. just warning that it really IS overwhelming that time of year.. even from past experience of being there in the August heat!

We are the opposite over here, as we are off Dec. 23 until Jan. 9th, so this is the best schedule for us for holiday vacations.

Incidentally, we have 1 bed SSR for Dec. 28-31, and then OKW for remainder, as everything else was sold out. We called last week, as we had to reschedule due to my husband being ill.

But, I did see that post on the Misc. board about someone getting something for that week, and I was surprised.

We have a waitlist for OKW for those days, so we can stay in one resort, but not sure if it will come through. We should stay at SSR for the whole time, but we absolutely adore OKW too much!

Best of luck to OP! Tiger :)

I called again today to see availability today to see if any days opened up to fill my request and was told that a one bedroom at SSR and OKW was availabe for Dec 15-23 for all nights

I just called and added another night to my trip. Staying at AKV Standard Studio on 12/23. Moving to Savannah View on the 24th. Moving to BLT on the 26th and then onto the Disney Dream on the 29th. :cool1:
