I am looking to come down to WDW between Xmas and NY's, crazy I know but we are going to be off anyway, so I figured why not? I really don't want to do the parks but want my 3 yr. old to see the fireworks. I've checked and of course, can't really find any good reservations, any ideas or anyone heard of anything? Thanks.

I would get whatever you can if you really want to go and check for availability at a place you really want from time to time. We are booked at FW for Christmas and New Years and we did that about a year in advance...even that was difficult....got ressies online but not with a live person....that's crazy. Anyhow, you don't spend alot of time in the room since parks fill to capacity during the day and you really don't want to leave knowing you probably won't get back in. The holidays are such a rush....I can't wait for December! We're also looking forward to AKV in June!

A good idea would be to contact a Disney Specialist TA - they will watch for codes and specials for you and you can relax and enjoy thinking about your vacation.

We spent Christmas there this year. I had some extra points from my DVC and we went to Boardwalk Villas. It was wonderful. Forget about Magic kingdom on Xmas day unless you are there at opening you probably wont get in and if you do it will be packed. We were told they shut down the entrance very early due to the crowd. we went to Ak and it was not as crowded.
Things to do: Osbourne lights at Hollywood Studios the lights dance to music. They also make it snow.
Candlelight processional at Epcot Make sure you get advanced dinning res with the processional package don't do the standby you might not get in. My wife loved it.
Mickeys merry Xmas party. I have not done this so I am not sure about it but it sounded good. it stops on Dec 21 or so
Also make sure you catch the night fireworks show at MK they make the castle appear to be covered in ice, its pretty cool with the changing colors.
We were there from 12/23 through 12/28. The weather was nice but it was cool at night.
