Hi everyone.

Yes I have finally done it and booked my first ever trip To okw for 23rd-27 December.
I will take a small tree but not sure what else to do to make it more interesting and festive in our studio.
I would love to just hear everyones experiences of what its like on xmas day and how they decorated their rooms etc.
I heard that Mickey might just deliver lollypops or something on the day itself ???
Also could I hang a stocking on Xmas Eve on my door (Just to impove my chances of being seen !!!!) I would hate Santa or Mickey to miss me !!!
Thanks everyone

P.s. If you have a priority seating in MK for say 1.30 pm on Xmas day will they let you in if the park has reached capacity or do you lose the seating????

You may not want priority seating on Christmas Day, the crowds are absolutely awful! Nevertheless, you are still allowed in for your seating--if you stay on-property you always get in even when the parks close because of too many people. You must pay in advance with a credit card for that day, and there are no refunds for no-shows.

christmas is the absolutely best time of year for visiting WDW, especially if you aren't too anal about getting on the rides. The parks and hotels are so magical then! My favorites are MGM Osborne Festival of Lights on Christmas Eve(worth the cost of admission!), and at Epcot they have a wonderful arch thing set up in front of the tree that plays Christmas music, and the lights blink and brighten for the instruments that play. It's just so wonderful to SEE music! And of course the fountain does its water display to Christmas music then, too. Those are my personal favorites, but everything is just SO festive, and all the trees are just terrific!

Yes, Santa leaves a treat on your dooron Christmas morning. We got candy canes and chocolate egg things with sweet tarts on the inside. Many people bring lights and decorate their balconies, too, which is fun. We made sure that Santa left one gift for each of us under our 2 foot high tree, so that helped too.:p You can also decorate your door with stockings or a wreath, something that isn't too expensive, just in case.;)

I forgot to tell you that the crowds are so bad because all the locals go into the parks on Christmas Day, too. When they close MK at 9:00 there really are too many people at the parks. Last year I sat outside Tony's Towne Square restaurant in the rockers, and watched the zoo. It was very entertaining.;)

Previous poster is not correct. If the park gets to max capacity, they will not allow anyone into the park..resorts guests included. This has happended to our friends on x-mas-we were waiting for them at LTT for 6:30 PS and they were not allowed back into park after they left to return to their resort CBR. It only really happens on major holidays- it has happened at MK the past 2 NYE as we were at wdw and know resort guests who were turned away at 10am when it reached capacity. Epcot and MGM don't seem to have the same volume issue. A PS does not let you into park if it is at max capacity. The resort guests are the last to be closed out, but it does happen.

If you go to MK, plan on going early and staying until your PS. Or do another park or resort stuff that day. Just my thoughts.

We went to OKW last Thanksgiving and the decorations were up. They were beautiful! There were garlands and trees and poinsettias all over the Hospitality House area. We spent a good part of our week just touring the resorts and checking out all the decorations. It was so much fun to see all the different styles. We loved the Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian (with Hawaiian-themed Xmas muzak!), and Beach Club. The Grand Floridian had the giant gingerbread house which was worth the trip over there. OKW had some of the most UNIQUE decorations -- the garlands had tangerine and teal colored flowers and tropical fish. I got great pics of the kids.

People here have posted that a lot of OKW guests decorate their balconies with twinkly lights, so you might pack some. Have fun! We had Thanksgiving dinner at AKL at Boma, and it was wonderful and not too crowded. The parks were insane, mostly the MK, but all the other fun made up for that. Enjoy!

We will be there at the beginning of the month, and we will probably decorate too. A few lights on the balcony will be fun. I even have some that are "Mickey parts"!
