XM radio - anyone have it in your car?

We used to have XM and I loved it.. but DH loves Nascar and the Nascar channel went to Sirius so we switched.. but I really liked XM better than Sirius that we now have..

I love my XM!!!! :goodvibes

Not only do I have it in my car, I also have it for in my store.

I love not having any commercials, and I love having more choices to listen to.

My girls love having Radio Disney (it comes in very poorly on normal radio) and I actually like listening to it too.

I think you will really like it!!!

I have it...it came free for 6 months and then I was so happy with not having to listen to endless-useless-banter that I kept it. Punched in my faves and never looked back.

I have a portable on that I can use in my car or use it in my salon. It is great!

It is esp. nice at Christmas time when they place tons of music!

Forgot-I have it in my house too via satellite. Keep it on light jazz and it plays through whatever rooms I turn it on in. Nice background and yes-as mentioned it's really nice at Christmas time too.

I forgot that too. I have it in my house from my satellite (DirectTV).

DH bought it for his truck, then when he got a new truck it was already in it so he gave me the other unit for my Blazer. I like it, but when it first came out it was completely commercial free which was the main reason I liked it. Now there are a few stations that DO have commercials and I don't like that. If I had to pay for it (he pays for it) I would probably cancel it because of the commercials. Not ALL stations have commercials, but some do.

It is nice for longer trips, you don't have to worry about losing the station's signal.

We have DirecTV so have XM on that in the house too. I've never noticed any commercials on those stations though.

Really love it at Christmas time, holiday music non-stop. :)

I quit paying my subscription. Loved it when I first got it - always had on the 80's channel :goodvibes but it was over $100 for a years subscription and I just didn't feel like I used it enough.

We are just coming to the end of the three month trial subscription that came with our car. Perhaps if we did more commuting we would renew, but with the exception of hearing two Adam and the Ants songs in the same day, it hasn't been all that exciting for me.

Have it! Love it! As a mom of five, I am always in my car, so I use it all the time. I could never go back to AM/FM.

I have satellite as well. I can not remember the last time I listened to terrestrial radio.

DH and I both have it. Only about 5 channels have commercials and I do NOT listen to those channels. But I'm not about to deprive myself of my other favorites. I drive 25 minutes each way to work during school and the morning DJs were driving me crazy (hey, here's our crazy question of the day, morning zoo type crap). I am going on 4 years with mine. One of my prerequisites for a car when I sold the trailblazer was that the car I got would have xm and not sirius--which is why I have a honda and not a toyota.
DH just got a new car receiver (he has a 2002 truck and had to buy an after market receiver). I forget what it's called, but it has some really cool features. If you like a song, you can replay it over and over again. He programmed in our favorite baseball teams and it beeps if there is a game on, and if we don't listen to it the score scrolls at the bottom of the screen. The graphics are much, much better than his old Roady.
The only thing I miss on sirius is radio margaritaville--but you can listen to it online. ALSO, if you have XM in your car you can listen to it online for free--you just have to put in your receiver ID #.

We have Sirius instead of XM since Ford uses Sirius - but I suppose it won't matter once they finish merging. We love the sat radio and can't imagine going back. I get sad when I drive our older Altima instead of the Escape because I look down when a new song comes on but there is no name on the screen! :) Love the comedy channels and all the other variety. Looking forward to football season and the NFL radio station, too. :)

have portable to use in home and car and anywhere I go - love it

ours has recording capability too so we can listen to the mp3s and recorded xm anytime too

for anyone not wanting to pay 12.99/month - call and say you want to cancel and see if you can get the $77/year plan

I don't have XM, Sirius subscriber here, but I love having no commercials and the choice of a wide range of music to listen to. I went with Sirius because of the Metropolitan Opera channel and the DJ's on the Broadway Channel, but would have gone with either one had it not been for those two considerations.

I have a portable XM unit so I can listen in my car or house, and it's almost always on. I don't like silence, so unless I'm watching something on TV or asleep I'm listening to XM. I love the 40's and 80's channels, plus Cinemagic (movie music) and the broadway channel. Plus we love to listen to Radio Disney as we drive to WDW. For us it's well worth it, and we'd cut out other things rather than XM if we had to trim our budget!
