Can a non-swimmer do the underground swim? How deep does the water get? Do you suggest using cash or charge card at xcaret? How does the exchange rate work? If cash, how much should we take? Can we buy the suntan lotion in advance somewhere cheaper? Alot questions, sorry. Thanks for your help!

The water in the underground river is deep enough to be over everyone's head at some points. A lifejacket is provided for flotation, but you'll need to use basic swimming skills to navigate.

For the sunscreen we used Carribean Sol found at Whole Foods but it was not significantly cheaper than purchasing sunscreen at the park.

Using a credit card should be no problem and a better idea than exchanging cash. Call your credit card company first to let them know of your plans to use it overseas and expect a 1-3% transaction fee on top of the charge.
