XBOX Live

I'm trying to get my DS's Xbox Live up and running but I'm not having any luck. So far I can get the Xbox to connect to my home network via a wireless router but I can not seem to get it to hit the internet. I have tried the suggested remedies listed on the Xbox web site and have run out of ideas. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Check the routing

By routing do you mean the IP addr and gateway addr or the router itself. I have entered the IP addr and such that was provided by the ISP(alltel DSL) into the dashboard settings of the Xbox. I have turned off the firewall in the router. The Xbox says I have connected to the network but cannot connect to the DNS server thru the gateway. I can hit the internet with my home computer thru the router but not hit it with the Xbox.

Do you have a WEP password on your router?

Yep, using 128bit. password is set in the router and the Xbox

What your DSL provider send you should have configured your internal network however when you add xbox to your network in essence you are creating a multi computer environment where a)xbox acts as a computer needs individual IP address NOT used by any other computer and b) your computer same as the xbox. So what you need is to:
Make sure the gateway is correct
Make sure the IP address is individual and not used by any other computers
Make sure you inputted the DNS numbers correctly into the xbox

my son read it to me from the basement so i thinking he must had got it from the tv. sorry i'll check when he gets home.
