I took the plunge and bought my 8 year old daughter an Xbox/Kinect bundle for Christmas. She loved the Kinectimals game that she played at a friend's house so I had her grandmother buy her that for under the tree. What other games do your pre-Tweens like? My hesitation with buying is that there seem to be very few games out there for Xbox that aren't violent shoot-em-ups. I plan on buying Disneyland tomorrow but would like one more for under the tree. Share your kids faves please...

I've seen the commercials for the Kinect and it looks so fun! I think my 7 year old would love it, but I'm seriously clueless when it comes to all these game systems.

So the Kinect is a special version of an Xbox or something you add onto an Xbox? The Kinect is what makes it work without the control, is that right? And what's the difference between all the versions? I looked on amazon and I see the 4GB, 250GB, bundles....:confused3

Can anyone give me a quick tutorial on it all?! Thanks!

My son is 7 I do not allow shoot em up. We have kinect adventures, the new sesame street one, wipeout, carnival games, motion sports, cars 2, sonic, zumba, and will be adding the disney universal (for us) and the Disney land game.

Just Dance 3, Sports 2 is tons of fun, The black eyed peas and MJ experience ones, Wipeout 2 and Fruit Ninja's are some of our top choices to look for this holiday season. Of course the Disneyland one as well!

HLAuburn...the kinect is an add-on for the Xbox. You can buy the Xbox in several varieties which all come down to how big of a hard drive you will need. I only bought a 4gb because we are casual gamers. We have a Wii and enjoy it but the Xbox offers a new variety of games to try. If you buy an Xbox bundled with a kinect then it comes packaged with the Adventures game. I have some dance games for the Wii but I plan on trying one for the Kinect. It should be fun to dance without being tied to a controller. It's certainly an investment but most kids enjoy them...and a few adults too. :cool1:

Thanks! It looks like a lot of fun. I'll have to look into it a little more. Sounds like a great Xmas present though.
