We have 2 xboxs in our house. 1 for DH and 1 for me and the kids. I was an xbox live ambassador for a few years and would like to help you out. I recommend getting an elite console and an extra controller. don't buy an extra headset until you actually need it. Your son might not be that rough with it. As for the live card, you can hold out for a bit because you get 1 month free when you sign up. Do not sign up on the xbox.com website though, do it on the console or you wont get the free month. As for Call of Duty modern warefare 2 (COD MW2), I do NOT suggest this game for an 11 year old. (Even though I love it) It is so violent that they even have a part in the campaign that gives you the option to skip because of this. (you are a terrorist preforming a civilian massacre in an airport) Do a google search to see for yourself. Even Assassins Creed 2 is tame next to MW2. ( I have completed both games) I think it was in poor judgement for the parents of your sons friends to allow him to play this game without consulting you. As for playing online, your son will play with strangers. There will be cursing and talk of getting "raped" in the game. Unfortunatly it is mostly unsupervised kids doing the trash talk. If you let your children play online, please make sure you are there to supervise it.
