I use to hate it because I thought it was annoying but then it just grew on me for some bizarre reason. Probably because when we went to see Tim McGraw, Big and Rich were one of the opening acts and they were really good live.

I heard on one of those weekly top 40 countdown shows that they never intended to actually sing their own songs. They went to the first meeting with the studio just as song writers & the studio ended up having other plans for them.
