X-Pass attraction list

Well, technically that's his job...

Not entirely... While, a business needs to be profitable, staying that way...is a bit more complicated. Reducing quality and service, while increasing prices isn't exactly the best way to sustain the bottomline There're these pesky little things called customers. A company also needs to provide an outstanding product and memorable service. Otherwise, the brand suffers and your company can become ...very ordinary.

Not arguing with that...but in the end, his job is about the bottom line. He has to be the one with the vision to get there though. A lot are short-term profit guys. Not many have the vision to a long-term goal and willing to take the short-to-mid-term hit to get there.

Unfortunately... I think, he's one of the short-termers.

Technically true, but do you think 25c more for soda or one less then sunshiny CM on a trip really means company became ordinary? Do not forget that quality is a very relative term, what you may find to be decline, someone else will not even notice. And in terms of experiense, NextGen suppose to bring it up all the way. NextGen is not only about Xpass, but personalized experiense. Imagine Cindy addresses kid by name, mentioning seeing child yesterday or last visit. This is not ordinary at all.

Prices have increased by way more than $.25..and the cuts are many...they add up. We aren't just talking one CM, but I won't stray from the topic...that thread was closed.

Prices got up everywhere and while they cut, they also add all the time. So it is not decline, it is change. And in this sence NextGen is the biggest addition, even if some of us will not like it. I do not want to turn this thread into downhill thread but if you are talking about Disney becomming ordinary, I think it is only fair to look at the bigger picture, actually looking at good and bad together.

We all have preferences, some things are more important than others. We all weigh things differently. Overall, some of the most important issues (to me) have suffered the most. We both can look at the same (big) picture, but still see it differently.

We may feel differently but regardless, we cannot close eyes on good just because it may not be that important to us. You see, I mentioned 25c on soda not to minimize all the bad changes but to illustrate that even something like that sets people off. I remember a hot thread on soda topic with all the calculations and blaming Iger once again. Even good things like FLE and Avatar met with resistance, again Iger was blamed for not satisfying everyone. Now NextGen. So is it really about what important to us or is it really about dramatization and refusing to see big picture, good changes while seeing all the bad?

Really impatient to see how this all turns out!

I btw, still wondering how things work in Universal with their system. Is it even possible to tour without paying extra for their pass.

Sure is, at least in the slow season. September 2010, did a day at IOA and then hopped to Universal for a couple hours at the end. Every single thing was a walk-on or at most 10-minute wait. (One attraction: Jurassic Park midday.) Excepting Forbidden Journey, of course... even that was only posted at 60 minutes in the middle of the day. (Less than TSM midday!)

I won't mind XPass as long as it doesn't create longer lines for those who choose not to use it. Depending on what it actually is, and how it's implemented, and what it costs... I might even pay for it.

But if it becomes a matter of "You HAVE to buy XPass in order to avoid long lines," and then particularly if it means "You HAVE to schedule your rides before even leaving home to avoid long lines," I'll be really sad.

At this point though I'm going to give Disney the benefit of the doubt and assume they won't do anything that silly. I've got to believe there's a way to implement this thing that will still allow us to tour in an unstructured, spontaneous manner (without ridiculously long lines) if we so choose.

We view the picture differently. Again, this thread is about X Pass attractions and we are way off topic.

I'm most likely willing to pay. But, I'll also be willing to change my mind if it ends up changing things negatively. As it is now, FP usually let's us have wait times under 10 mins, and sometimes walk right on. If a side effect of X-Pass turns the "fast" line into a 15-20 minute wait or longer because more people might be using it under the new system, that would be unfortunate.

Interesting thought.

This could be the return of E-ticket designations. E-E-tickets if you will.
It does start to sound that way.

Disney just needs to get it over with. Setup one giant Omnimover of Wall-e type chairs that move through the parks. The guest inserts a credit card at the park entrance and the chair takes the guest on a predesigned path to and through all the rides. The chairs will take the guest to eateries at predesignated times at which point the guest will be able to order the same meal that all the other guests are eating and, based on the number of points the guest pre-bought, the guest might even be able to order dessert! Souvenirs are ordered prior to the start of your trip and shipped directly to your home at the end of your vacation, along with your pre-ordered photo package. Walt Disney World, Pre-order your Memories Today!

Oh, I'm not a fan of Xpass. :)
:lmao::lmao:

I am not saying they hope to bring new visitors, they want to bring them onsite.

I totally agree.

I personally will not pay for this, but I also don't have family members run for fastpasses.

Any details on what the xpass (I thought it was going to be called FastPassPlus) will include with regards to ADR's? Are blocks of seats allocated for xpass only?

If they are smart they can sell virtual items with avatars at the computer booking side as kids will want that.

There is no indication if/when ADRs will be part of xPASS, although I'd expect the ability to make/verify ADRs will be rolled in to the whole "experience" of booking.

As for the name, since nothing has been announced by Disney yet, we don't know the name it will have when released. xPASS up to this point was just a name used internally. "FASTPASS+" or "FASTPASS Plus" came from a supposedly leaked prototype document, but the document has not been verified.

I'm thinking this will be for "onsite" people first because that makes the most sense to me anyways. But I am wondering if it will be like ADR'S? I hate ADR'S :/

We don't have exact details yet, but it was originally described as making a ride reservation "like dining". It probably won't be exactly like dining (think about it - the throughput of an attraction is a LOT more than that of a restaurant - the low throughput of a restaurant basically means you don't have many options other than making an ADR), but it will probably be something more like getting a Fastpass in advance for a particular return window, with some limitations on the number of advanced reservations for any given window, and the window being very rigidly enforced.
