X Factor--Season 1

I had the show recorded and just watched this morning. I loved the little 13-year-old girl that opened the show, she is adorable!

I was in tears after the 42-year-old single mother of two, Stacey Francis, sang. When she said she was going to sing "Natural Woman" I wasn't impressed, until she sang. Wow! I'm so rooting for her!!

And that 20-year-old boy that his Mom gave him 2 years to get a singing career going or he had to go back to school or get a job, Marcus Canti (not sure I spelled his name right since they don't show the names on the TV) was really good too with that Stevie Wonder song.

And even though I don't like rap crap...er rap "music" at all, I do hope Chris Rene does well. But with him only being clean and sober just over 2 months I don't have a lot of faith in him. :(

I liked the 3-guy group, Anser too.

Really happy to see Simon and Paula again, and I like L.A. too but what happened to that first female judge, wasn't her last name Crow? And now Nicole has taken her place? What happened there, does anyone know?

I love that people don't audition just in front of the judges, but that they have a 4,000+ audience as well, and have music to their song choices too.

Looking forward to tonight's show!!

It IS odd that he had a resemblance to Randy, with the bald head and trendy glasses. I'm going to refer to him as "NOT Randy", because I don't know his name. I think he's a good match for Simon, and we will probably watch the show for a while. We stopped with AI last year.

LOL, Randy WISHES he was LA Reid! He has more talent in his big toe than Randy has in his entire body.

I didn't watch last night, HATE auditions. I really miss Simon so I look forward to hearing him once the people are set.

Not trying to be a hater, but how is this different from AI? Wasn't AI created as a spin off of the UK's X Factor??

Or was this created to replace AI? I think that show's going downhill fast.

It is different because of the age range , AI has an age cut off at 26? There was a man and woman...not good but she was 83 and he was 70.

They are also breaking then into groups, boys, girls, duos and groups.

Auditions are in front of lots of people and not behind closed doors as well.

Sounds more like America's Got Talent than AI.

Also, they are then broken into groups, where they work with the judges as mentors, kinda like the Voice.
I quit Idol when Simon left, and as much as I love him, I am not going to watch this anymore, nor will I go back to Idol. It's just not interesting anymore.

I was enjoying it until they started to show all the crazies. I was hoping there would be more focus on the good ones.

Loved that first girl..what a personality! I also loved Simon's face. Nice to see him back.

As for the Prince wannabe...they have to let a weird one through now and then so someone can get booted off right away.

And the "I'm a Stud"guy just sealed it. It was not funny and he should have been pulled off the stage immediately and they let him keep going.

Exactly. As long as the crazies get air time, they will always have the crazies. I hate the crazies - I want people who take the opportunity seriously.

Love the Pepsi promos :teeth:

That's some smart advertising there. Especially the clips of Michael Jackson's old commercials. It was neat to watch those with the kids.

Holy cow, I wasn't paying attention and thought it was Randy. Oops! :upsidedow

Damn Melanie can sing! Wow she is fabulous, I hope she isn't a flash in the pan because she gave me goose bumps. I just rewound the dvr so I could hear it again. No one else has been anywhere near as good. So far I have been dipping in and out because it just doesn't grab me yet.

Xander Alexander, SHUT UP AND SING YOU PRISSY JERK! If you don't want people calling you "Alexander" then don't use it part of your stage name.

Is it on again tonight? I'm watching Project Runway.

He has a decent voice, but is super annoying. I'm glad Simon didn't advance him. He's right, he blew his chance. Maybe he'll check the diva attidude and try out next year.

It's so good to see Paula again. I always loved her on Idol. I like Nicole too. I'm glad she's a judge. Simon doesn't seem quite as mean/bored as when he was on Idol.

This show is like an amalgam of American Idol, America's Got Talent, and The Voice.

Apparently the Parents TV Council is already in an uproar over Geo Godley.

I honestly like the show better than AI. I think the audience adds a new dimension to the audition process, and the host is way hotter than Ryan Seacrest.

Did anyone watch last night?

I was really surprised by Joshua (not sure how to spell his last name, Cradjick or something like that). I would buy his music right now!! Wow! Loved his rendition of "At Last." He better be in the final!

Well audtions are over. I was a little disappointed with the NJ ones. We saw the last nights audtions, and there were some really great acts I thought (hoped) they would show. But they kept showing so many bad ones.... Ok, I will see them in boot camp!

I am interested in seeing which judge gets what group to Mentor.
