I've lost him to Halo.. seriously, he's worse than my nephews. :rotfl2:

Anyone else?

My Dh has played about 8 hours today and more than that yesterday. He plays Call of Duty World at War.

I feel your pain. It is one of the few things we fight over.

edit to add: He does not play all at one time. He breaks the time up during the day.

For me I look at it like this, at least he's at home. He's here when I need him to help with the kids or whatever, when he's on he's right near me so we can talk and stuff. If he was out golfing of something I would not have him here to talk to so I let it go. It's more of a joke than anything (the widow thing)...

I'm a Gears of War 2 widow. I play with him sometimes but never online with his "team"

This is SO funny! :rotfl2:

Personally, my DH plays some, BUT it bothers my DS much more than it would bother me....Son says his dad RUINS his ratings as he plays lousy....who knows what the heck they're talken about. All I know is I just bought about 4 new games for Xmas and they'll love'em...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!

MY RULE IN OUR HOUSE FOR ALL MALES

for every hour they play, they must socialize with a real person in a real setting..ect.

like my DS played yesterday for 4 hours.but at six..he went bowling with a bunch of kids for 4 hours....

Today..he played for 4 hours...and then left at 400 for the basketball courts and he is still there...

Seems to work for us...

Oh yeah... Rainbow Six almost got chucked out the window today.:lmao:

oh ya..and we can not be on internet when anybody is playing XBOX because of our satellite connection...he gets "booted" out of his games.

especially rainbow six....so, ya, it stinks some day!

LMAO... I'm right there with ya! DH is playing Fallout at the moment :)

DH has been playing Saint's Row at night on the X-Box the past few nights- yeah, it's in our bedroom :sad2: ...but only because the Wii is in the living room :thumbsup2 - and he's playing Spyro on it right now!! (We have 2 DS's, 12 and 5:) )

My DH has NEVER played our X-Box and doesn't really care to. I had to take the power cord away so my son would not sneak it. I am not a video game fan in any way shape or form (flame suit being put on now) and think a little is fine but people who play them for more than one or two hours at a time are wasting their life away... and the violence in the games is not god for the school kids either.... I know you were talking about your DH. I am sorry you have 'lost' him to the games... Maybe the machine can 'break' :rotfl2:

Ohh it's not *that* bad! I mean there were times I wanted to chuck it off the roof, but my DH isn't at a bar, golfing, or anything that would keep him out of the home. He's here on our couch, and more importantly he's here when and where I need him :)

LOL he even says the violence in the games helps him take out his aggression from his workday :)

My Dh says the same thing, cheaper than therapy!!!

I couldn't agree more. My DH works 60-70 hours a week at 2 jobs, I say let him enjoy his down time. And like I said, he's always right here next to me.

As for PP mentioning Fall Out. My DH solved it a few times or he'd be on that now too. He liked it very much but is back to WoW, he plays online with his best friend from childhood. I think it's kind of nice actually.

My little brother plays... he's gotten better, but when I'm home, he has a very affectionate name for me: Lag machine. If he's playing on Xbox Live, heaven forbid if I'm surfing the web. I'll hear this voice scream "LAGGGGGG!" It's rather annoying for the both of us...

Haha, good to see I'm not the only one. Nah, it's not sooo bad.. he works hard 50-60 hours a week, so I let him have his downtime. Especially considering I *dared* to take away his last two weekends with moving and my parents visiting. It's just funny when he plays, because he's just... gone. We don't have any kids yet, but I can picture him fighting over the game console with his own son. :rotfl: He keeps trying to get me to play, but I'd really rather burn off my eyelashed with a blowtorch.

I did, however, make him cuddle up on the couch to watch a few Christmas movies with me when he was done playing. He didn't seem to mind :lovestruc

DH is currently working his way thru Fallout. I can't complain to much, because he does most of his playing when I'm not home. That is one of the benefits to his working nights and me days.

But when he does play on the weekends, I will usually read a book and watch him. I just hate that he is so fast scrolling thru the menu's or scanning the items that can be picked up. If I am just watching him play, he knows he has to scroll slower or I will get bored and that'll be the end of his game playing for the day.

DS13 and DH will play Rainbow 6: Vegas a lot together. It's fun to listen to them play this, yelling out directions and giving each other crap about get the other killed.

And for the poster who said they don't have kids yet, but could picture her DH fighting with their son over the console, don't worry they won't be fighting over the console, they'll be plotting who take the stairs and who provides covering fire. You'll also be glad that they are bonding over something. DS has a couple of friends who love the fact that DH will play video games with them. Their dads won't or don't.

DH has the two weeks off at Christmas and the kids will be staying home with him. The only really no arguring rule in the house I have about gaming is, during this time period, you can play games all day while I am at work, but there shall be no gaming once I hit the door. I think DS and DH will have enough time while I am at work to play any of the 6 new games they are getting for Christmas. And DD11 will have the Wii she's getting, plus 3 games, all to herself to enjoy.

Yes I live with 2 gamer geeks and 1 wannabe gamer geekette (she's not all that into gaming yet, but after getting this Wii who knows).

We have 3 kids and he's a wonderful daddy, games and all--- don't worry about that. It actually keeps him young.

We have Wii that we all play togther, I am not into games usually but that Wii is great.

Also, let me tell you after 15+ year of marriage, it sounds like yo uhave a great attitude and great balance and that is HUGE. I love the cuddling on the couch watching Christmas movies, it shows such nice balance and compromise, I am sure you are a wonderful couple and will make great parents.

I joke about the WoW widow, but the truth is he's right with me, here when I need him, and we have that nice balance too. It really isn't bad at all...

My fiance is pretty much into Madden '09 but I think once we get Rock Band 2 or GH World Tour we will be able more video games together.
