Okay game people tell me where I can get one for Dh. Dh has been talking about wanting one but I am clueless as to where to find one.

I called Sears and checked online at Circuit City with no luck. I want the base set for 300ish and don't know how to do ebay or trust the idea of not getting one in a store.

Why are they so hard to find in stock?

TIA!

You'll probably just need to wait for one of the stores to run an ad that they'll have a supply of them for sale and then go get in line to get one.

Good luck!

I had luck with this site.

http://xbox.clambert.org/

I bought the core system and an extra controller from Circuitcity.com a few weeks ago. Lots of places are getting them in stcok but you need to get there when the store first opens. (I do think claims of their easy availability are exaggerated, I haven't seen any on the shelves and I shop alot!)

Also when it did become available at cc.com, it was the premium system. I had to remove all but the system and the controller to get what I wanted(i.e. games, cords) So if it says premium system available at circuitcity.cm, put it in your cart, go to the check-out and remove all the stuff except for the system and an extra controller.

My boyfriend bought one at FYE in our local mall this past weekend. They are still only selling them in bundle packs though.

DH is on his FOURTH xbox 360. That system has so many bugs in it. I HIGHLY recommend buying the warranty.

Try Dell for getting a system.....they sell in bundles, but you can sell off the extras on ebay.

DH got his at Target, I called for him and they had 5 he left right away (in a Tizzy with excitement) and they had 2 when he got there.

I have also seen a stack of them at Sam's Club

If your DH is a gamer you may want to get the 399.00 system. It has all this extra stuff (very important stuff I was told) but to buy the extras it would end up the same.

Yes, he will need a memory card ($40) to save his games. Unlike the Xbox, there isn't any internal memory. You don't need a remote to watch movies but if you want to play regular Xbox games on the 360 you need the hard drive ($100) and not all games are backward compatible.

COOL! I found one thanks to your suggestions!!! :cool1:

Now the guy said it was the upgraded model (not base) to play online and the older games for $400. Does that sound right? or is he pulling my leg and I can do the same for the base model for $300?

Last question, I promise, what is the name of the game where it has a city name in it? Something about cars?

Project Gotham Racing...Yes, the package the guy is talking about includes the $100 Harddrive. I forgot about t he Xbox Live stuff, my husband isnt into that.

no not that, San something I think.

P.S. THANKS for ALL your help!!!

He LOVES it. The guys at work are jealous that I found it. :wizard:

I was just wondering if anybody wanted to share gamertags? :) DH and I would love to play with some fellow Dissers! We have been playing PGR3 (Project Gotham Racing 3) like crazy - we really like it. I work part-time at Best Buy so I get some of the games for free after a small program charge and S&H through an online program with Microsoft. It's pretty cool - so far I've gotten PGR3, Perfect Dark Zero, and Halo (original Xbox game). The only game we have purchased so far is Call of Duty 2 - DH just had to have it!

If anybody's into playing online let me know! We're still pretty much newbies to the whole Xbox thing but I have done a lot of research (on my own and through training at work) and learned quite a bit.

Regarding Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - it's not yet available on the 360 platform to my knowledge. The orginal Xbox game may work - there are lists on the internet that tell you which games are backwards compatible (like Halo).

I am sure in a few months Dh will be online. :goodvibes
