Wyndham Smoky Mountain Resort - April

Has anyone been to the Wyndham Smoky Mountain Resort? Was is clean and "nice"? We are thinking of going in April for a few days at Spring Break - any local people know if it would be good weather at that time for hiking / foliage? Any activity suggestions for a 3 and 6 year old? Restaurants - good or bad? Have never been to this area as a family, so we do like to hike and be out out of doors.....

Nice clean resort.

But if you can get into the Wyndham Wilderness Lodge you might enjoy that a bit more with your Chidren. Wonderful indoor waterpark that doesn't cost extra.

If you're going to the Gatlinburg area, I'd highly recommend renting a house. We did this last summer and it was wonderful. It was about the same price as a hotel room, but we had a big three bedroom house in the mountains with a gorgeous view. Here is where we stayed.

The Smokey Mountain Resort is closer to the parks and the tourist area. With traffic, it can make a big difference. Dollywood will be open by then and the weather will likely be glorious. April is one of our best months here.

The resort is very close to the Apple Barn, an often mentioned favorite, and also Fuddruckers, a burger chain that my kids always enjoyed. They have great homemade buns.

We have stayed there several times. It is very nice. I hope you checked Ebay as the prices are usually very good on there for the Wyndhams there. Of course the wilderness lodge wyndham is the best.

Stayed there last fall. We rented a 3 bedroom from someone on Ebay. We got a great price. Condo was nice and spacious. My only complaint was the carpet could have used a deep cleaning in high traffic areas. Otherwise, great in every way. We will definitely check into renting here on our next trip to Pigeon Forge. In a good location, close to restaurants and a Wal-Mart supercenter, and the outlets.
