Hello folks, thinking of booking this hotel for our trip next year, just wondering if anybody has stayed there, whats it like?the area etc. Any help welcome, thanks in advance.:confused3

We stayed there in 2009 when it was called Regal Sun, its the nearest hotel to Downtown Disney, 2 min walk across the road.

We paid £25/nt which was supposed to be one of the cheapest low level rooms which get poor reviews, thankfully we were upgraded to a tower room on arrival.
See post #101 in the hotel thread, I put pics there. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=33540244&highlight=regal+sun#post33540244

We stayed there just after it was taken over by Wyndham 2 years ago..We thought it was a fantastic location being so close to DTD but thought the resturant and cafe left a lot tobe desired at the time (maybe its improved now). The Tower rooms are the ones to stay in and imo worth paying the extra for. The side blocks always have a lot of complaints. We stayed on the 14th floor overlooking Disney and it was a great view I must say.
The rooms in the Tower are the biggest but were in need of a bit of updating. I believe they were going to be doing this so hopefully thats done now. Having said that they were perfectly adequate, clean etc but just a bit over the top on the decor..you name a colour and it was in the room, but hey at least it was bright:rotfl:
The free Disney transportation we found to be awful. The bus had already been to one or two other hotels and it was normally standing room only and they aren't the most frequent either. If you left it till a bit later then no probs with seats. The bus then goes on to another hotel to pick yet more people up after your hotel!!
The swimming pool is a good size..it was tad chilly when we went to use it.

If you can get a good price then go for it.....:)

We stayed here last year over new years, the location you can't beat, you can just walk across the road to DTD. We were in the towers and the room was pretty nice with a great view.

Thanks for the replies, but after a dicussion with my family we have decided to put the holiday back two weeks, and that way we can go back to the courtyard in the marriott village lbv, where we have been before, we also save a lot of money, and the crowds should be lower:banana::banana:
