Wyndham Disney springs

I'm looking for some reviews on whydhm disney springs has anyone stayed there who can give me a heads up on how they like it? Thanks

My wife and I stayed in June 2014. We walked to Disney Springs from the hotel in less than 5 min. Rooms were nice, ordered cheesteaks for room service (they were very good) Left parks around noon and went to the pool everyday then went back. Good price for location. Be wary of the room charges-they add 18 bucks extra each day for fees.

The tower rooms are much nicer then the ones on the outside and the pool area is really nice .It's a close walk to disney springs .

I haven't stayed there but my sister and brother in law recently did. They usually stay at a Disney Springs resort, and really like the Holiday Inn and Hilton. However, they were very dissatisfied with the Wyndham (it was the only hotel available for their dates). They said it was one of the worst places they've ever stayed. I'm fairly certain it was one of the outside rooms, as mentioned by another poster, so maybe there are nicer rooms in the tower.

We did a review on The Trip (part of the DISunplugged network) of the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort if you want to watch! I had a great experience there.

It appears that they split this property into two separate hotels within the Wyndham system. The 5-story building with exterior entrances is now the Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista. The tower is known as the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista. Screenshot from the Wyndham reservations site:

I'm certain that this change will confuse many people, since the two "hotels" share all the common areas like restaurants and the pool.

Stayed Dec 2015 in the tower closet to Disney Springs.
The Good:
Was nice to be able to walk to Disney Springs and back.
Room was freshly painted and hallways on ground level were being re-done. Finished when I left.
Room was no better than a Super 8 Hotel room. But it was clean.
Bed and pillows were comfortable
Room Safe was easy to use and large enough for a laptop and other items.
In room fridge worked good and kept things cool as it was suppose to.
Elevator was small but working.
Pool was clean and hot tub was hot and relaxing.
Bus transportation to the parks and back every 30min shared with other hotels. This is free.

The Bad:
Cheaper to eat in a park or pick something up at the Hess station by Disney Springs and put in the in room refrigerator.
Soda price was $3.50/ 20oz bottle and a breakfast croissant was $7 something.
As a previous poster said watch the add on fee's. Cost me an additional $150 for the week when I stayed. resort/parking fee's(Valet and self park are the same price)
Also be prepared for the 15 min sell for real Wyndham time share presentation before you get to your room. They want you to sign up for a 2 hour presentation.

For my next trip I will be renting DVC points for the same price as staying here. Just a thought to think about.

Wanted to add another review to this thread as it was very helpful when I was trying to decide whether to book the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista for a last minute cheapo trip this week. I paid $202 for two nights including all taxes, the resort fee, and the parking charge (it was about $140 on Orbitz plus $57 of local charges I paid upon checkout). I did use $25 of Orbucks, so this would have been about $225 for the "public" rate.

That being said, I will ABSOLUTELY be staying there again if I can get the same rate. I could not have been more pleased with the location just across the short pedestrian bridge to Disney Springs. From there, we easily caught buses to the Disney resorts for dinner and drinks. The buses are just at the other end of the pedestrian bridge, and nearby is Disney Springs marketplace with the Dockside Margaritas, Earl of Sandwich, Ghirardelli (if this helps you know where you are in Disney Springs).

I think the rooms were very nice - I have never been to a Super 8 that was anywhere near this nice - the beds comfortable, modern updated decor, clean. As Jackie and JeniLynn mentioned on the podcast review, we appreciated the cubbies and "cube" seating that we used for suitcase stands. We didn't even make it out to the pool area and I was still this impressed, just from the clean and attractive room and location alone.

Negatives for me were that my room wasn't ready upon check in (though it was nearly 4:00) - I understand they don't promise rooms being ready early but I have always had luck with this in Orlando, I think due to the large inventory. Also I had a weird exchange with the woman manning the "welcome" desk (probably the timeshare sales mentioned above) who wanted to have a showdown with me when I told her I was well acquainted with Orlando and that I have an AP so didn't need tickets. "No thanks" means "no thanks" in my book, especially at a hotel that thinks highly enough of itself that they have the audacity to charge a resort fee. I left my bags with bell services since my room wasn't ready and I could not get them to bring them up to my room once I got the room - call was disconnected more than once and then just rang endlessly. I eventually trotted back down to the bell desk where a very nice gentleman located my two small bags for me. Took them to the room myself.

Those small things aside, I was very impressed and glad to add another option to my list of places I like to stay in Orlando.

DON'T do the presentation. It is not two hours; it's more like 4 (or 5), and the Wyndham sales organization has one of the worst reputations in a sleazy industry.

You literally cannot believe one word they tell you...including that the timeshare pitch will be either a) two hours, or b) low-pressure. If their lips are moving, they're lying.

If you WANT to buy a timeshare, Wyndham is a very good one (we are happy owners), but you can buy a Wyndham contract literally for pennies on eBay, TUG, Redweek, and many other sites.

We stayed at the Wyndham Garden section on Thursday night. It was sort of a last minute booking, and I chose it because there were no Value rooms on property, and this was the cheapest Disney Springs hotel. I paid just under $100 total for the night (including the resort and parking fee). The room itself wasn't awful.. it was clean, but it was small and cramped due to oversized furniture. Our biggest complaint was around 2:00am when the drunks all stumbled back to their rooms. That's not the hotel's fault, but the walls are paper thin. Also, the self parking lot is VERY small compared to the size of the hotel, (and half of that is used by housekeeping staff) so it's a good thing that valet is free. We also had zero interaction with the timeshare folks.
I don't think that I would stay here again, unless it was quite a bit cheaper. We happily checked into Pop the next day.
