Wyndham Bonnet Creek

Cinderella Mom,Thanks, I was hoping someone would respond to that. It made sense to me, to make that arrangement with Ken. I can't see cancelling my current ressie at $120/night, and if something happens with BC I would be paying $180/night, if I didn't get the discounted price. So it was best to lay low. Dec 7th still gives me almost 2 months to find a better deal if I wanted to. We don't arrive in FLA until Feb 5th. I also believe there should be some good deals coming out in Jan for that time, as people will want there places rented. So if Ken can't get the discounted price, I am sure I still have options. I don't think $120/night is unreasonable for the Fountains eithier, just Ken's price was far better, and great location!
WE shall see. Will Disney discount tickets do you think for Feb at all?

Since Ken is a platinum member, he could look for the discount at 60 days and upgrade the room to the next size up (if available)....

I do it all the time! It's a double bonus!

Your strategy with Ken is a good one.

rental fees will probably go up now that wyndham has increased the guest certificate fee to 129$ effective October 15 2008

perhaps your renters still has "free" gc but that is changing too evidently ...wyndham has caught on to the huge rental market ....they might as well cash in with the 129 fee

Also guest confirmations did go up, but Wyndham members are allotted "free" ones based on their points and VIP status. So if a owner has a lot of points then the guest confirmation fee will not make their rental fees go up. It all depend!

Platinum members have at least 15 free GC so.......

Those of you who have posted replies on Bonnet Creek all seem very well versed and experienced, so I would like to ask a question. We are thinking of staying at BC for the first time. Have been on RedWeek's site checking out weeks and rental prices. There are some who are asking $97 a night for a 2 bdrm/2 ba for a time period from 10/1/08 thru 10/1/10, while others are asking $200 a night or more for the same type, 2 bdrm/2 ba. Why such a difference, is it just the one renting the unit out and their personal preference? Thanks!

Usually, those are "teaser rates". They would only apply during the lowest point season, and possibly only for short-notice bookings within 60 days of check-in.

Do all platinum owners get a free upgrade? Do their guests?

All plat owners get free upgrades and since the owner is the one who controls the reservation for the guest then yes the guest would also get the free upgrade if it's available when the owner requests it. The guest generally cannot walk up to the desk at check in and get this.

Bonnet Creek has a lot of rooms now, so free upgrades are possible during any season.

Christmas 2007 my family and I had a 1BR, 2BR and a 3BR. We did not have to use full points for any of the rooms. All were booked witht the 50% discount and the 2 and 3 BR were both upgrades, so the deals are there.

How do you know when there are openings? Is there a website you can go to check avalibilty?

There is a website where one can check availability, but only a Wyndham points owner can use it---you need an account.

There are a lot of rooms, but very often, only 2BRs are still available at the 60 day mark. At least that's been the case when I have been looking (late February, Easter). 1BRs sometimes are still available then (making an upgrade to a 2BR possible) but not always.

On the other hand, points discounts are almost always available---the exceptions are really peak holiday weeks. For example, Easter Week '09 has been booked for months. Every once in a while a unit pops back up due to a cancellation, but not often.

As with anything, you won't know for sure until you get it.

All this information is wonderful. I really liked Ken on the phone, and I felt very comfortable leaving things with him they way I did for Dec. Now I feel even more confident. If it all works out, I guess it was supposed to be, and if it doesn't, well the Fountains is a nice resort as well. Who knows, I am going at the slow part of the year, hoping for 2 bdrm, maybe I will be lucky and have a 3 bdrm, who knows!!!!!

I am trying to find a ressie for BC for Dec. 30 and check out on Jan. 1. Could Ken help me w/ this?? Or is it going to be outrageous w/ New Years??

I found the Wyndham Orlando for around 60-70 dollars per night...what's the difference between WBC and WO???

How do I get in touch w/ Ken via email?? TIA!:thumbsup2

There isn't any availability at Bonnet Creek for your dates. Unless somebody already has reservations for your specified dates.

In fact, those dates are completely sold out for almost of Wyndham resorts in Florida.

I am thinking that Wyndham Orlando is the hotel on Int'l Blvd.

I am wondering how to get a hold of him too...I wanna book BC in Dec 12 - 21st

That's strange... I looked at his pricing on his website and it lists all of Jan as high season. I always thought that was low season everywhere. :confused3
I emailed him anyway and hopefully he can beat the prices I'm seeing on ebay.

At Bonnet Creek weeks 1-6 are high season and 7-14 are prime value is 15-19.
