Wyndham Bonnet Creek...What if room is not ready?

For those of you who've stayed at WBC, will someone at the front desk text you when your unit is ready? Do they have a place to store cold foods while waiting for your room (like the Disney resorts do)? How have you occupied your time while waiting for your unit to be ready? We need to renew our AP's next weekend; so I thought we might go to DTD, have a meal, and renew our passes at that time, if we need to wait on our unit to be ready. (We've gotten so spoiled! It's been years since we've had to wait for a room to be ready. We even managed to get into our Dolphin room at 7:00 AM on an Easter Sunday when the place was completely booked!)

We wandered around the resort to see what was where. They were also giving out free pizza and lemonade in the lobby, so we had a light snack. We only had to wait about half an hour to check in, and they did call DH's cell phone when they were ready for us. We went to Publix for groceries after getting our luggage into the room.

I know it will totally depend on time of year you are traveling, but over spring break we got to WBC at 9 am. We considered not even going to the resort that early, but since we drove all night we were tempted by the idea of a shower! Our unit was ready and it seemed like it was not a shocker one was ready. Keep you fingers crossed!

We were at the resort by 9:30. Our rooms weren't ready, so we just went into the MK. We got the call that the rooms were ready before noon; however we didn't get back until after 8 PM. We unpacked, and went to bed, tired from our first day, but anxious for our second day.

I am curious as to if they have a cold storage place for groceries too. When we stayed there in October '12, we arrived in the morning, and the room wasn't ready until about 4:30. I want to get to the grocery once we arrive if there is a cold storage place available.

We have stayed two times. . once the room wasn't ready (we arrived around noon knowing check in was at 4:30) they said they would call us- so we headed to DTD, and they called around 3 that the room was ready.


The second time- we arrived around 1, and our room was ready. . so its just a hit or miss.

Both times we have gone, I pack a small bag with our swim stuff in it. . so that we can change clothes and jump in the pool if we wanted to while we wait. That's probably what we will do this time.


We drive down from GA so we pack our cold stuff in a cooler. . i've never asked about a storage place. I do know they can hold your luggage, but not sure about cold stuff.

There a restrooms/ changing rooms near most of the pools!
